Great post. Amy and I are thinking about trading my old truck in for another “city car” and the Jetta SE was at the top of my list. Because of VW’s history of fun branding, I really *want* to be a fan. Unfortunately, every person I’ve told that I’m considering the Jetta gives me similar VW horror stories. No amount of great branding will ever overcome bad customer testimonials and your post is just another reason I probably won’t buy a new VDub. …Doesn’t mean I don’t still miss my old punch buggy though.
