AppleのMapチームの責任者だった Richard Williamson が、Apple のインターネットソフトウェア＆サービス担当シニアバイスプレジデント Eddy Cue により解雇されたと、Bloomberg が伝えています。
現在、外部のマップ技術の専門家に助言を求めており、デジタル地図プロバイダの TomTomにAppleと共有しているランドマークとナビゲーションデータの改善を促しているそうです。
10月のAppleの組織再編により、2013年に退社するスコット・フォーストールに変わり、Eddy CueがMapサービスを担当しています。
Richard Williamson 氏は、iOSモバイルソフトウェアチームのシニアリーダーとして、Appleの音声アシスタントSiriを含む様々なサービスを担当していたそうです。
