現地時間2013年2月7日(木)、Apple が iTunes Storeicon の楽曲ダウンロード数が250億曲を突破したと発表しています。

250億曲目は、ドイツの Phillip Lupke さんが購入した Chase Buch Chase Buch の「Monkey Drums (Goksel Vancin Remix)」で、Phillip さんには250億曲目ダウンローダーとして「10,000ユーロ分のiTunesギフトカード（約126万円）」がプレゼントされるそうです。

現在、iTunes Storeicon は119カ国で利用可能で、2600万曲以上の楽曲が提供され、平均で毎分15000曲以上がダウンロードされているそうです。

2010年2月25日に100億ダウンロードを達成し、約2年で150億ダウンロードを記録した事になります。また、今年2013年で「iTunes Music Store」開始から10年を迎えます。（iTunes Store - Wikipedia）
