Uniqlo Yukata Collection 2010 Now Available Online: ユニクロの浴衣

If I was buying my first yukata, I would buy one from Uniqlo, probably the current equivalent of the one I bought years ago at Oriental Bazaar in Harajuku, but the Uniqlo is a real yukata, not a tourist-cum-bathrobe one, plus it comes with an obi, and the waist cord to wear it properly. Hi,I am going to kyoto in july and was wondering if i should buy a yukata at uniqlo when i go to japan or buy it online before i go to japan. which way would be cheaper and better?

If you are going to Japan, I think it would be much more fun to buy a yukata here. There are many inexpensive ones available in summer, in addition to Uniqlo.

I will be going to Japan next weekend (May 6th-10), do you know if Uniqlo will have yukatas on sale at that time? Is it too early?

I am not sure if yukatas will be in the regular Uniqlo stores yet, but they are always available at the Uniqlo store at the Narita airport on the departures floor.

You still might consider buying a nicer yukata at a department store, but the Narita Uniqlo shop is the best bet for availablity in early May. Some yukatas are already available in some department stores.
