The Boy from Treasure Island all grown up. PFH and Christian Bale at a party on TLP Day.

うおー、今スペインの栗友のEva(Thank you Eva!!)からクリスチャンさんの写真がやって参りました。ぎゃー(笑)。またかこういう可愛い子ちゃんデー!!。とりあえずいつ撮られたものだかはよくわかりませぬ。わかりませぬがこのマルガリータちゃんで何となく想像中。それにしても嬉しそうだなあ♪。可愛いなあ♪。

追記:Ferdの話だとTLP dayは最近のは9月19日にもあったそうな。おお!!。でもその日のものかはよくわからんよ。でもってTLPっちゅーのは"talk like a pirate day"の略らしくて、サイトはコチラのようでござんす♪。スケジュールはコチラ。いつも適当ですまんのう。

My sweet friend Ferd emailed and called the Pirates. HOORAY! And Ferd got some informations and sharing to me and CB fans, YAY! Thank you so much Ferd!!! You are always awesome girl!! *HUGS HUGS HUGS!*

Here is what Ferd found out;
I spoke with Ted Shred (one of the pirates in the photo, and the man who runs 'Pirates for Hire.') I emailed him for a bit more information and he was kind enough to call me back and talk for about a half hour or more. The event where Christian was took place this past Saturday, September 19th in Pacific Palisades, California. The event was not arranged through his company, but by one of his friends named Kelly White who also plays Jack Sparrow for parties and such. He was who was commissioned to be the entertainment. There were several pirates there from his entertainment group there to do sword fighting and interact with the guests and kids and such. The party took place at a producer's house---his daughter was turning 3 and it was her birthday party. It also happened to be 'Talk like a Pirate' day. He didn't recall the producer's name, but will be contacting me with it. The only other celebrity he mentioned being there was Tia' Carrere.

He said as he was there at the party one of his pirate friends said to Christian (not realizing it was really Christian Bale standing there-- and all being actors who make their living acting like other celebrities and such) "Omg! You could totally make a living playing Christian Bale for parties." Christian smiled and said "thanks," and walked away. They then kind of realized that it was in fact Christian and there was some debate since Ted (who I spoke with) said he was a bit surprised by Christian's size. He said he was pretty thin and his hair is buzzed so he 'didn't look like Batman'. LOL! Once he heard his voice though he knew it was him.

So they are there doing the party, and he said the backyard where they all were having the party (which also had a huge pirate ship for the kids to play on, and face painting and such) was two levels, one higher up than the other, and he was watching Christian walk by to go to the other level. He said his one friend (who was playing a pirate as well) told him that Christian Bale played Jim Hawkins in Treasure Island (which is something he didn't know.) So as Christian is walking close to them, one of them calls out "Well if it isn't the young Jim Hawkins all grown up now!!!" and the other chimes in "Aww, no, he is nothing but a scallywag now!" (basically just ribbing him as pirates) and he said Christian turned around totally amused and stunned, cracking up laughing and said "You guys are incredible!!" He then walked over to them and kept laughing, saying "NO ONE would've known that!" (And was cracking up that they called him out for his role in Treasure Island) They just said "we're pirates! And we're fans!" He said it was then that Christian said "can I get a picture with you guys?" and whipped out his own camera. They responded "Can we get a picture with you??"

Ted said he was totally into the whole thing, posing and playing and talking with them, loving how into it they all were and how they talked. At one point Sibi (who Ted didn't know was his wife. He wasn't sure if he was married, and if it was his girlfriend) but he said she called for Christian to come over somewhere and Christian responded "I'm playing pirate!!" LOL!!

Ted (the guy I spoke with) is also the world record holder for fire swallowing (eek) and he does it as part of his pirate act. He said Christian totally loved it and told him he would have to find a part for him in one of his movies to do that kind of gig. He also was able to give his card to him for parties and such and he said Christian seemed interested. I specifically asked if he had any interaction with his daughter, and he said that she liked all the pirates and was interested in all the things they were doing, but she was not as outgoing to approach them as much. But Christian took a lot of pictures. (hee!)

The other pirates in the picture (besides Ted) are Jim and Sarah. He has more pictures he will be forwarding to me when his fiance' uploads them.

I am trying to remember everything else he said, I asked a lot of questions and we talked a long time, and since I costumed and knew cosplay, we chattered on for a bit about a lot of other things, so we're going to stay in touch. Maybe he'll get to see Christian again! :D

(They also taught the kids to sword fight, and it was Christian that wanted to hold their swords for the pics.)

I just read Ferd's description of the event. Thanks so much for sharing, Ferd, and thanks to Falco for uploading. Tia Carrere and Sibi are friends. I remember reading a blurb in People Magazine about Tia and she mentioned Sibi as a good friend. Their daughters were born the same year. Tia's daughter is turning 4 September 25th. Perhaps the party was for her and the person mistakenly thought she was turning 3 and not 4?

It was not Tia's daughter--her name is Biancha (I believe) and the little girl who was having the party was named Skyler and was definitely turning 3. She was the daughter of the owner of the house and her dad is a film producer. ;)

Omg,eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!! He's looking soooooooo hot,and he looks healthy too,sooooo glad to see him smiling and back to himself again!!! Can't wait to see him in The Fighter,and other projects.I love u Christiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!! Balehead4Life!!!!!
