'The most important thing is always to imagine ideal self.'
Umm... I think so.

Diary of one Japanese field researcher
Through recent fishing activities, I
realized my sixth sense is getting reestablished. I’d had it when I was a
child. At that time I’d often gone mountains and nearby small rivers. It’s not a
sixth sense, but my normal senses might be just heightened. I don’t know but… I can feel subtle flow of air with perhaps a
bit of overstatement.
I think we got accustomed to living with
only humans and watching unreal world through PC or TV screen. I strongly want
to accept this awareness which I got in the nature. I love it.
I guess really few people have an experience that being shot water by archerfish.
Until yesterday I'd been in Ishinomaki (Miyagi prf) to prepare our experiment in Australia in next Feb. On Sunday, I and my senior had a free time from the afternoon because we'd finished our fixing then. So we decided to visit Matsushima which is famous for a beautiful sightseeing place.
At first, we stopped at Matsushima Aquarium (http://www.marinepia.co.jp/). This aquarium was not so big, but highly entertained us with ingenious contrivances. Especially, a couple of Xmas events made us very excited. One was quiz contest using power current of an electric eel. When we give a correct answer, we have to be shocked by a lot of electricity. That's enough.... Another event was becoming a target of archerfich. I wore curious glasses with their paste bait on the centre of the glass surface, and I looked into the fish tank (about ten fish inside). As soon as our eyes met, they started shooting, to get their bait. Their shots were so accurate that the bait was dropped into their mouths in split seconds. I never forget the funny experience!! I strongly recommend the aquarium if you have an opportunity to visit Matsushima.
After aquarium, we walked around Matsushima Coast for about an hour, and went back to our accommodation. We didn't have much time to be satisfied with this beautiful place. Someday I'd love to go there again.
'Matsushima-ya ah Matsushima-ya, Matsushima-ya.'
Yeasterday I took part in data-logger searching in Kunnui river with my seniors. Loggers were attached to chum salmons to get the ecological information. Today I have another topic I really want to tell you, so I'm gonna introduce this salmon's study some day.
On the way to the river, near Onuma, we met one running woman wearing a jersey cloth and a knit cap. At first we couldn't distinguish her who is a big name in the world of sports, when we passed each other. But then we suspected she might be Naoko Takahashi. We all three agreed to identify her one more time. So we turned around and tried identifying....... Wow!!! she was the gold-medalist as was expected. I said to her 'Keep going!!' and asked 'Can I take your picture?'. And she answered with good smile 'You can, but if you don't care of my keeping running'. The picture left above is that I took from inside of a car. I'd become her fan as soon as I saw her smile.
After all, though we couldn't find any loggers, we had a good and rare experience.
'Keep up the good work!!'
I'd been to Hobart for almost two weeks until the last Friday. The main purposes of the trip were to meet two my teachers and to have a discussion with them. Despite a little sightseeing, it was an enriching experience for me. I could talk with not only tuna scientists but also one scientist who engage in Great white shark. Yes, as you know, I'm animal happy, particularly I like strong animals such as this shark or saltwater crocodile. Oh! I should get a grip on myself...
By the way, although this trip was forth time to visit Australia, I felt Tasmania has a little bit different atmosphere compared to other regions. My images of Australia are reddish soil, hot weather, various fish, fish and chips, tasty beer........ and easygoing people. Most images were also true to Tasmania, but the atmosphere looked a little like Hokkaido's. Yes, probably it's natural feeling, because the latitude of the island is much the same as Hokkaido's. I recommend visiting Hokkaido in south hemisphere if you like the great outdoors.
Anyway, the stay in Hobart was much fun, thanks mate
One of my friends got married on last Sunday. Although he is same age, he looked grown-up with his good atttude. I was fairly stimulated by the happy wedding. But now I'm still student and can't make money. So it hasn't hit me yet. However, I am reluctant to talk about unclear things any more here.... I will wait for the day to come.
O.K. I wish you two have happy days forever Cheers
At last I submitted my proceeding of 3rd GIS sympogium that took place in Shanghai. It was mentally demanding so much. But, that is why now I feel rather better. I wanna thank many people who supported me. O.K. from now I'll leave to Hobart in Tasmania State Australia soon. It's my first trip to go there, so I'll be excited. You can count on funny story. See ya guys!!
This weekend, I went to Lake Toya-onsen with my girlfriend. It was not the first time to go there, but staying the night was the first. Our accommodation (http://www.noguchi-k.co.jp/gokiraku/) cost 5,000 yen including two meals. In spite of the price, we satisfied with better-than-expected dinner and hot-spring. In addition, we had a happy time with fireworks event at night.
The next day, we made a call at Marine-park Nixe (http://www.nixe.co.jp/main.htm) in Noboribetsu. Although it was the second visiting, we enjoyed so much. Particularly, a dolphin show and an absolutely curious fish called ‘Sakebikunin’ (http://f35.aaa.livedoor.jp/~gotozoo/fishetc/sakebikunin.htm) memorable. It’s difficult to explain this fish properly, so please go there and see it by yourself. It was, as it were, swimming fireball…..
After that, we stepped in Jigokudani in Noboribetsu and went back to
Before going back to her home, we stopped in Moerenuma-park (http://www.sapporo-park.or.jp/moere/) to see a big fountain show. Only two weeks ago, we visited there, but at that time, we couldn’t see the show. Then we were talking about going there again someday… This park designed by Isamu Noguchi was really attractive and it became my favorite. And the fountain show (photo) was so fantastic that I couldn’t have shut my mouth. It is available until the end of October. So you have no option but to go. I absolutely recommend this beautiful park and this fountain.

The last weekend, I went on a sightseeing trip with a stupid guy (Soccer-Boy). The previous night, we decided to go on a trip. To show you many photos, I will divide it into three articles.
The first destination was Ohma in
Anyway, this small town had irresistible attraction for tuna-happy (me). The photo shows the symbol of Ohma.
I mentioned many times, but I love scuba diving as well as soccer. That's why my blog title is 'diving footballer'... Easy! After coming back from Shanghai, I went to Bohol Island Philippine. Yes, to do diving!! My father has been deep into this sport like me, blessedly. So this time he invited me same as the last year. Total of seven dives I did. Every dive was great enough, especially for people who live in non-tropical regions (e.g. Hokkaido : I've never done yet). I met many kind of fish, crustacea and sea slugs. Although I dove more than 200 times, these diving sites were definitely one of my cup of tea. And I could refresh myself from boring days. Thanks, anyway.
Hello, guys. As usual, it's been about a mouth since the last blog. From 21st to 27th of August, I'd stayed in
It was my third trip in
After Aichi, I came back to
After Amami, I stopped over my parent’s home in Aichi. That was to see my grand father who had been hospitalized. I felt easy when I found he was fine enough. Parents, another grand father and grand mothers were also fine. This time I’d visited the expo in Aichi with parents. As you know, popular pavilions were so crowded that we gave up getting lined-up. After all, we could look around four
It’s been a long while as usual. A week has passed since I came back here from long trip.
Update was delayed by college seminar, as it were, presentation in this week. Summer is entirely here even in
I’ll go to Amami from tomorrow again. I’m an assistant of the survey this time also. Due to operation of boat, I restudied from the beginning this time. At present, it seems that Amami continues raining for a while. However, now I’m suffering from hay fever here, so I wanna go somewhere pollen has not flown. After this survey, I’m gonna go to my parent’s home. Hope I can go to an expo. And a total of 10 days from 5th of July, it was decided to participate in the survey of Japanese huchen (Itou) in Akkeshi. I must bid farewell to
Now I’m continuing quitting smoking after an interval of five years. Twelve days have past since stopped. I’ve thought that it was absolutely hard to quit. This time’s trigger was my chronic suffering. Now I think I could already stop it. Because, I must’ve had really heavy days that I underwent this time, if I started smoking, again. First three days were thorny. I don’t wanna smoke almost anytime, now. If I continued it one more month, I’ll write on here.
Yesterday, I came back from Amami-Oshima Is.. This business trip was absolutely fulfilling and made me happy. The left photo shows 3m and 600kg Bluefin tuna which are cultured on-site, when we were taken to their feeding station. You may not recognize it clearly, but it was astonishingly big, fat and scary.I felt it was exactly ‘Seeing is believing’. On another front, the survey had gone smoothly. I had only one time to do diving to repair a cage’s net. And I did skin-diving so many times with Yellowfin, Bigeye and Skipjack-tuna. I’ll show you the photo next time. Next time, I will write about the Amami’s life. See ya!!
It's been a long time as usual. The academic conference in
