ひっそりと復帰しました

ご無沙汰してます。
ガーガメルの池田圭郁です。
三月中旬くらいから久しぶりに持病が発症してしまい、
3ヶ月近く闘病してましたが、今日から少しずつ仕事に復帰しようと思います。
まずは全く見てなかったメールから対応したいと思ってます。

I'm Kiyoka Ikeda from Gargamel.
It's been a long time since I've had a chronic illness.
I've been fighting it for almost three months, but I'm going to start working again today.
I'd like to start with the e-mail checks that I haven't seen at all.
前にもここに書いたことがあるのでご存知の方もいると思いますが、
僕はクローン病と好酸球性胃腸炎の二つの難病を持ってます。
今回は好酸球性胃腸炎が発症しました。
どちらの病気も内臓疾患で食事が出来なくなるのですが、
発症のタイミングが悪く、福袋の発送をしていたので、
食事を抜いて症状を緩和させて発送作業をしました。
とりあえず、国内発送を終わらせ一安心と思ったところで、
症状も悪化して１ヶ月動けなくなりました。
体重も10kg減って体力も激減しましたが、症状も落ち着き
少しずつ仕事に復帰しようとしたところ、まさかの再発症でダウン…。
また１ヶ月近く病床につくことになりました。
長い時間、苦痛に耐えながら病床に臥せていると気力も削られるので
肉体的にも精神的にもかなり参りました。

I have two intractable diseases, Crohn's disease and eosinophilic gastroenteritis.
This time, I developed eosinophilic gastroenteritis.
Both of these diseases are internal diseases that make me impossible to eat.
The timing of the onset of the disease was bad, while I was shipping Lucky bags.
so I skipped meals to alleviate the symptoms and work on the shipping.
Just when I thought I was relieved to have finished the domestic shipment, my symptoms worsened and I was unable to move for a month.
I lost 10kg of weight and my physical strength dropped drastically.
Just when I was about to return to work little by little, I unexpectedly came down with the disease again....
I had to stay in bed for almost a month again.
Lying on the bed in pain for a long period of time was draining my energy.
I was physically and mentally exhausted.
僕の持病は未だに原因が曖昧で難病扱いですが、
僕に言えることは塗装のシンナーが原因のようです。
再発したのも久しぶりに塗装した日の夜でしたし、
今まで入退院を繰り返すのは塗装で忙しい時期かその後でした。
ソフビ用のシンナーはとても強力で、こぼすとなんでも溶かします。
揮発するのも早く吸い込みやすいので
僕はちゃんとしたマスクを着用して塗装しているのですが、
主治医の話だと人間は皮膚からもシンナーを吸うのだそうです。
言われて気が付きましたが、僕の指は塗装でガビガビにひび割れてます。
僕はソフビをきれいに塗れれば良いと思っているので、
塗装時は素手でソフビを持ったまま、指ごと塗装したりします。
そういったことの積み重ねで、２０年以上ひび割れた指でしたが、
痛みもほとんど無く不便も感じなかったので、職業病と思って気にしてませんでした。
しかし、今回の闘病でほぼ３ヶ月シンナーに触れなかったため、大分回復しました。
指の皮膚が回復して解ったことですが、皮膚の表面がシンナーで壊死してたらしく、
感覚も戻ってきました。
僕は原型製作中に指を切っても血が出てるのを見ないと
自分の指を切ったことに気付けないくらい指先の神経が鈍かったのですが、
今は切った瞬間に気付けそうなくらい指先の感覚を感じます。
原型を製作する際のスカルピーを素手で触るのも指先のひび割れが酷くなる原因だったので、
今後はゴム手袋などを着けて触ろうと思ってます。

All I can say is that it seems to be caused by paint thinner.
It was the first time in a long time that I had a relapse, and it was the night I was painting vinyl.
I've been in and out of the hospital only when I've been busy for painting or afterwards.
The thinner used for soft vinyl is very strong and will dissolve anything if spilled.
It volatilizes quickly and is easily inhaled.
Of course I wear a proper mask when I paint.
But according to my doctor, we also inhale paint thinner through our skin.
After hearing his thought, I've noticed that my fingers are cracked from painting.
When I paint, I think it's good if I can paint the soft vinyl nicely, therefore I hold it with my bare hands and paint the whole thing even my fingers.
As a result of all this, my fingers have been cracked for over 20 years.
I didn't think it was an occupational disease and didn't care about it because I felt no pain or inconvenience.
However, since I hadn't touched paint thinner for almost three months, I have recovered a lot.
I realized that after the skin on my fingers recovered, I found out that the surface of the skin was necrotic from the thinner.
I also regained my finger surface senses.
I used be If I cut my finger while making a prototype, I would not know I had cut my finger unless I saw it bleeding.
Now I can feel the sensation in my fingertips so much that I almost notice the moment I cut myself.
Touching the sculpey with my bare hands when making the prototype also caused the cracks in my fingertips to get worse.
I'm going to wear rubber gloves from now on.
僕の病状は今は大分落ち着いていて、
落ちた体力を戻すために運動も始めました。
今は体重が少し戻って50kgから53kgになりました。
元々60kgだったので、まだまだ元に戻ったとは言い難いですが、
久しぶりに身体を動かすと体調も良くなる感じがします。
My condition is much calmer now.
I have also started exercising to regain my lost strength.
I have regained some weight, from 50kg to 53kg.
I was originally 60kg, so I can't say I'm back to normal yet.
I feel better when I move my body after a long time.
今回の件で、僕は本当に死にかけたので
しばらくは無理をしないで様子を見ながら仕事しようと思います。
ご迷惑をおかけするかと思いますが、何卒ご理解頂きたいと思います。
元気じゃないと、おもちゃも作れませんし。
