3rd compensation order to the country and TEPCO = Litigation of Nuclear Dispatient - Kyoto District Court
In Tokyo Electric Power Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, 174 people in 57 houses evacuated from Fukushima Prefecture and other places to Kyoto prefecture sent a letter to the country and TEPCO for damages of about 800 million yen in total, etc. Kyoto District Court Met. Asami judged that the country was able to foresee the great tsunami based on the earthquake prediction "long-term evaluation" announced by government agencies in 2002. "It was illegal to not order TEPCO to respond to the tsunami at the end of 2006".
Most of the plaintiffs were voluntarily evacuated from the area where evacuation instructions were not issued, and judgment considers evacuation considerably considering individual circumstances, such as the distance from the nuclear plant of the place of residence. He also ordered compensation against plaintiffs who evacuated from Chiba, Tochigi, Ibaraki prefectures etc. which were excluded from the government's guidelines for compensation. 【Newsletter】
