映画で有名な作品って事もあって、なかなか面白かった。PenguinReadersの映画物のretoldにははずれがあまりないようだ。ページのあちらこちらに映画での各シーンの写真が挿入されているので臨場感があるし、よく映画館で売ってるパンフレットの小型版って感じだ。もちろん、パンフレットと違って、こちらは詳細なストーリー付きだが。
ただ、さすがにPenguinレベル２(600words)では表現力が乏しく、物足りない部分も多々あった。レベル２だけで４９冊目、レベル２総数約１０２冊の半分くらいを読んだ事になるが、そろそろ１つ上のレベルの本に着手した方がいいかもしれないな〜。

難し過ぎず簡単過ぎずちょうどいい難易度で読みやすかった。内容自体もそこそこ上手にリトールドされてて結構楽しめた。ただ、この本に登場するdragonはかなり人間ぽい言葉を喋ったりと、私のこれまでのdragonのイメージとはちょっと違うもののようだ。そこの所が何か違和感があった。
さて、早いものでPenguinReadersの多読もこの本で１２３冊となった。ここまで約１年半かかったが、ようやくTOEIC(５月)のリーディングセクションのスコアが上がり始めた。これまで、特にTOEIC対策をしたわけではないので、純粋にPenguin１２０冊くらいで、リーディングスキルに変化が現れ始めるという事かな〜。確かに、今のレベルのペーパーバックなら日本語の本とほぼ同じスピード・理解度で読めるようになったしな〜。TOEIC(５月)のパート７の問題文も結構スピーディかつ楽しく読めたし、今までリーディングセクションは苦手だったけど、パート７は結構好きになりそう♪

定番の古典という事もあり結構面白い内容だった。でも、futureのghostの章がちょっと分かりにくかった。というのも、ある事象を最初から語らずに、その事をほのめかすような場面を展開させて、読者にひょっとしたらという気持ちを持たせながら、最後に、そのある事象の事を語るという構成になっていたから。今まで多読をしていて気がついたが、結構このパターンの構成に弱いようだ。英語力がまだまだなので、その『ひょっとしたら…』が『ひょっとしたら読み間違えたかも』になってしまう^^;。で、最後の方を見てやっと『な〜んだ、読み間違えてるわけではなかった』って感じ。
