次回公演「珠光の庵」のこと
次回公演「珠光の庵」のことを、書こうと思う。

１年半前に、城崎国際アートセンターにレジデンスさせてもらえる機会を得た時、せっかく「国際」アートセンターで創作できるのだから、長年温めていた「お茶会演劇のインターナショナルバージョン」のスタートアップにしない手はない、と思った。
どのようにして、日本語を解さないお客さんにも作品を楽しんでいただくかを考える中で、字幕をつけるとか、そういった方法ではない形で上演したい、と演出が言った。で、同時通訳的な役割を担うキャストを３人加えた、新演出のバージョンを創作することになった。
もともとのキャスト達は、これまで通り、日本語を話します。（うち１人は、英語キャストとも会話しますが。）それを、新しく加わったキャストが、英語で伝えます。
「イヤホンとかですか？」と昨日話した人に聞かれましたが、そういうものも使いません。便宜上、「同時通訳」と表現してるけど（多分それが一番近いのだけど）、そういう役回りをする登場人物が出てくる、という形です。
城崎で試演をやって、これは本当に仕上げて、海外上演をしたいという手応えを得た。昨日稽古場で、その映像を少し観た。やっぱりこれは面白いな・・と思う。
今回、キャストは一部新しいメンバーになった。これまで「珠光の庵」を観ていただいた方にも、初めての方にも、ご覧いただければ嬉しいです。
来月の京都は、「KYOTO EXPERIMENT」という国際芸術祭が開催中。世界のいろいろな作品が上演される中、私たちの作品も多くの新しい人達と出会って、その皆さんと一期一会を味わえたら・・と楽しみ。

In the summer of 2014, we stayed in Kinosaki International Art Center. It is an Artist-in-Residence center focused on performing arts.
At that time, we thought we have to start up the international version of our "tea party theatre", because we had a rare chance that we could stay in the "International" Art Center. -- we had been planing the performance for many years.
During thinking how will we perform for audience who don't understand Japanese language, our director said that we want to play in the new style rather than such as playing with subtitle.
Then, we began working on an new performance with our original cast and new interpreter-like english speaking cast.
After a test performance in Kinosaki, we got a good response
and we really had a dream that we will finish this work and play in oversea.
Yesterday, we watched the video of the test play. I thought again that it is very interesting.
We will show our first performance with a renewed direction next month in Kyoto.
At the same time, the International Arts Festival called "KYOTO EXPERIMENT" will be held in Kyoto. I hope you will enjoy various performances from various country, and our performance.
