The dashed-line spotlight observed at this time in May is the light that announces “it’s about 30 days before the summer solstice."
Furthermore, about 30 days after the summer solstice (until July 22nd), the dashed line reappears. With this observation, it is possible to observe the 62 days around the time of the summer solstice. It is an excellent spotlight observation that can determine the summer solstice day, which is the middle day. This is useful because it is not possible to identify the day of the summer solstice by observing only the days before and after the summer solstice. The reason is that the sun’s path in the sky, day to day, varies very little. This is similar to the full moon appearing to be full for three nights.
The ancient people of Kanayama used megalithic stones to create a mechanism to accurately read the calendar using the actual sun's spotlight. The accuracy that they achieved in setting up the huge boulders is simply amazing.
