奥村和彦 (おくむら かずひこ) ジャズピアニスト 作編曲家
熊本県生まれ
ジャズピアニスト サイラス＝チェスナットに師事してジャズの真髄に触れる、同時にニューヨークのジャズクラブでのセッションに参加して腕を磨く、その中でも若手トランペッターの第一人者ロイ ハーグローブやウエス モンゴメリーグループの名ドラマージミーラブリエンスとのセッションは、その後の演奏に大きな影響を与えた。
Cleve Douglass(vo) & Son Of A Duke日本ツアーに参加
1995年、ピアノトリオ「KUMA-SUN」 奥村和彦（p） 田代文雄(b) 藤山英一郎(ds) を結成して、より自由な世界を求めて演奏活動を開始
2005年、奥村和彦トリオ（安東昇ベース、伊藤宏樹ドラム）を結成し、日本各地で演奏活動を展開
2007年3月8日 生まれ故郷熊本への思いをひたむきに書き下ろした
デビューアルバム「Fire Land 火の国」を発表
2011年には、日本で最も権威のあるジャズFM番組 「NHK セッション2011」に奥村和彦トリオで出演し全国の
ジャズファンに大好評を博す！
2014年 エジプト・カイロ国際ジャズフェスティバルにKaz Okumura Trioで出演し、エジプトのジャズファンを興奮させる！
現在はツアー活動を中心に日本各地で演奏活動を繰り返し、火の国の熱いサウンドを届けています！
KAZ OKUMURA ( jazz pianist / composer / arranger )
Born in Kumamoto, Japan. He studied the soul and beauty of jazz piano in New York under Mr. Cyrus Chestnut. He joined many jam sessions at jazz clubs in NY, where his piano playing improved tremendously. At those sessions, Roy Hargrove(tp) and Jimmy Lovelace, who played with Wes Montgomery and George Benson, greatly impacted and influenced KAZ.
1995 Formed his own piano trio called “KUMA-SUN”, which means teddy bear, and started creating his own music.
2005 “KUMA-SUN” was renamed, “KAZ OKUMURA TRIO”. They kept playing all over Japan.
2007 Released his first album called “FIRE LAND 火の国”, which means “the land of fire”. He had this name from his deep love for his birth place, Kumamoto, which is famous for a big volcano.
2011 Appeared on “NHK SESSION 2011”, one of the most famous TV jazz programs in Japan. His band was really popular all over Japan.
2013 Joined ‘Cleve Douglass(vo) & Son Of A Duke JAPAN TOUR’
2014 Currently playing with his own trio and quintet nationally with the enthusiasm of the fire land!
