世に盛る花にも念仏申しけり
“よにさかるはなにもねぶつもうしけり”貞享元年 ４１歳の句

ちょうど昨日、仲間と花見の宴を催しました。
先だって急逝してしまった、二人の仲間への、追悼の宴でした。
桜の花は不思議なものです。
時には、子ども達の、未来への門出を祝う華やかな伴奏にもなり、
時には、亡き人に想いを馳せる、過去を覗く万華鏡にもなる。
昨日のそれは、
持参したあかりと、宵月の僅かなあかりに、
深く遠く漂う 思い出の余韻は、
彼の人の功績を偲び、
自分の生き様を振り返り、問い直す機会でもありました。
追悼の宴、といっても、
特別に何があるわけでもありません。
周りから見れば、普通のお花見となんら変わらず映ります。
でもそこにある桜の花びら一枚一枚に、
それぞれの思いが反射するのでした。
歌うのもよし、唱えるのもよし、という、
芭蕉にとっても、それで よし の桜 でしょう。
菓子は薯藷製、コテ書きの桜。合掌…
