有難や雪をかほらす南谷
“ありがたやゆきをかほらすみなみだに”元禄二年 47歳の句（おくのほそ道）
How greatful I am to breathe
The holy air, snow scented,
At Minami-dani.

やっぱり芭蕉さんは面白い。
真夏の句に、雪というワードを持ってきた。
“ひんやりと涼しい風”となるところを
“雪を薫らす風”なんてか。
下五にも、最初「風の音」としていたようですが、
後から、「南谷」に推敲した様子。
おかげで、思わず、羽黒山本坊南谷をグーグルで空から眺めちゃう私。
心はすっかり出羽三山の山中へ、雪風を浴びに 一飛びしてしまいます。
380年後の読み手のリアクションを、ここまで読んだか、芭蕉さん。
お菓子は粒餡 きんとん製です。

The Dewa region of Yamagata Prefecture is a representative power spot in Japan. It has been worshiped since ancient times as an object of worship. You can feel the cool breeze even in midsummer.
