I strongly hope the situation to change immediately because I have just four weeks to go.
The teacher, Joe, I think he is not teaching in the class, I and other students also think that he seems to be just speaking and talking what he wants to talk apparently.
We are not learning English for business, rather, some of us feel that we are studying business or economy in English.
He takes time too much before he starts talking (this is absolutely waste of time). He must prepare the contents for class before coming to the classroom.
His pronunciation is still hard to listen and he stutters out too much. I think he might not so if he speaks slower and clearly and I hope so.
He also doesn’t write on the board even though we want spell of words. Sometimes he does, but the handwriting is incomprehensible.
Besides, last week, when all of students came to class, he said that this situation is unusual (I don’t remember exactly how he said, but something like that). Because we paid the fee for the course we should be expected to attend the class. This was a very disgusting statement. It sounded that we are not welcome to school.
Personally, we need another business English class for upper intermediate level. Or I want another teacher to replace instead of him.
Nowadays people address environment problem. Key words for environment such as “recycling”, “reuse” are now familiar. These are things we can do easily. But I dare to say, there is nothing that we as individuals can do to prevent climate change.
For instance, in Japan, the government has announced a deal which called “eco-point” as an environment improvement plan. People who bought some energy-saving home electronics are given “eco-point”, and they can use this point for buying another energy-saving home electronics. (Besides, this campaign intends to boost up the economy.)
This policy might be good in few cases because people will have a chance buying new electronic products with government help. Recent home electronics are high quality and take into account environment problem. So we will be able to save the energy by using new ones.
However, I don’t think this is one thing what we have to do for the environment. Old home electronics should be disposed and it is not easy. I suspect that they just increase waste. This is only my opinion, but people also ought to keep in mind where those old ones thrown away. There is no explaining, so nobody knows indeed.
Another example, plastic bags from supermarket have charged a little amount tax in some countries. Many supermarkets are suggesting the customers to carry their own shopping bags for reduce plastic bags which are not reused, ending up as waste basically. They sell original shopping bags and they are popular in Japan. This policy has succeeded apparently.
Whereas, there is also a contradiction. I don’t know in other countries, but in fact, some of Japanese look for good shopping bags especially brand-name ones even if the bags are very expensive and they buy too much. (Do you know that Tesco – Cath Kidston reusable bag are traded at a high price in Japan?) It is what a waste, ridiculous, isn’t it?
People say that we consider and take care something tiny good for the environment is important. Yes, we can improve climate, if all of the people across the world try and keep doing. But I still doubt people who can’t even quit littering on the street do it.
「Ok, now we finish today, have a nice...」
今！今have a nice afternoonって言うつもりだったろ！！
最初の先生のBenは、「have a nice day」なんて米国人ぽくてよくないって言ってたのになぁ。
だから私もバイトでお客さんには、「have a good day」て言うようにしてるんだけど。
