Which statement do you agree with more?
(A) It is acceptable for people to sell and buy kidneys.
(B) Kidneys should be offered by donors with no money paid.
(¥ª¥ê¥¸¥Ê¥ë²òÅú)
¡¡¡¡In the world today, kidneys are sold and bought, because there are fewer donors, from whom kidneys are offered for free in a spirit of goodwill, than recipients who are waiting for kidney transplantation. So those who desire kidney transplantation, especially in rich countries, are looking for donors who sell their organ. However, the problem is that almost all donors are in poor countries, and they don¡Çt voluntarily offer their organ from their goodwill. They have no choice but to sell their organ in order to improve their own life or their family life. This is not accepted from an ethical point of view. So I think the deal of kidneys should be banned internationally.
¡¡¡¡Some people admit trade of kidneys, saying people in poor countries who sell their kidneys have the ability to judge what is good or wrong for themselves. They mean the trades of kidneys have no problem because donors have decided to do that and no one else has the right to stop them from doing so of their own free will. However, their decisions are not an informed one. They don¡Çt know what risk they will take, or how their health condition will be after operation. In poor countries, they are often underprivileged and ignorant because of lack of education. So trade of kidneys between the rich and the poor isn¡Çt conducted on equal terms with each other. In fact, there are almost no donors who sell their organ in wealthy countries because they are relatively rich enough to live without selling organs.
¡¡¡¡Selling and buying kidneys with money have to be made illegal and kidneys should be offered by donors with no money paid. However, even if an international law was enacted, the trade would be continued unless we solve fundamental problems. The first problem is that there are too many people who wish for kidney transplantation in developed countries. The sickness of kidneys is often caused by their habitual lifestyle such as eating and drinking too much. To solve the problem, the governments of those countries urge their people to lead a healthy life and prevent themselves from becoming sick. In addition, they need to prompt medical study and research to make artificial organs which are substituted for sick organs. The second problem is that the cause of the problem remains unsolved if poverty in developing countries is not eliminated. Poverty deprives people from making a choice among alternatives. The reason why they decide to sell organs is that they have no alternative but to sell them. If these two problems are solved, organ trade can be banned. And then, kidney transplantation will be done only between voluntary donors and recipients. (447 words)

Doctors in Japan are increasingly caring for a greater number of non-Japanese patients. Indeed, the increase in foreign tourists from china, South Korea and other Asian countries, as well as the looming Tokyo Olympics in 2020, will require Japanese doctors to treat more foreign patients. Describe how you can best help such patients.
(2016 É;¾°å²ÊÂç³Ø)¡Ê²òÅú¡Ë
¡¡¡¡When I work as a doctor in the future, more and more foreign people will come in Japan on a trip. And the number of foreign people who live and work in Japan will greatly increase. As a result, when they are sick, they will come to hospital, and doctors will have to treat people from abroad.
¡¡¡¡In dealing with patients from abroad, what is important is that we try the best to relieve the anxiety or uneasiness they feel because of being in a foreign country. People feel anxiety when they are in a different environment from what they are used to. In addition to that, there is the language barrier. It would be hard for them to explain in Japanese their symptoms or how and where they feel pain. So I will try to communicate with them in English or in their language in order to reduce their anxiety and make an accurate diagnosis.
¡¡ Of course, my individual effort will not be so effective without the whole hospital staff being cooperative. Medical system differs from country to country. So foreign people don¡Çt know well about Japanese medical system. I would like to work together as a medical staff member in hospital in order to accept foreign patients. (209 words)

Other than for reasons of health, do you think that having pets is a good idea, a bad idea, or both? Given at least 3 reasons for your choice and explain them. ¡Ê£²£°£±£¶¡¡Ê¡°æÂç³Ø¡¦°å¡¦¶µ°é¡¦¹ñºÝÃÏ°è¡Ë

I think having a pet is a good idea for several reasons, especially for children. The one reason is that children can learn responsibility from keeping a pet. They must look after their pets when they keep one. For example, they feed them every day and walk them and so on. Through this, they learn responsibility because if they stop looking after them, they will soon die.
By keeping them, they can also gain the knowledge concerning the nature of their pets. For instance, they observe and know about the food they like to eat or don¡Çt like to. According to research, those who have pets have more knowledge about nature than those who don¡Çt. Furthermore, they are able to know life and death through being with pets. Now there are fewer opportunities for children to see death. However, pets teach them life is finite. This experience will be very important for them. For these reasons, I think keeping a pet is a good idea. (165 words)

¡¦Every individual must weigh carefully the balance between the moral rights of animals and our own responsibilities to protect and care for them.
¡¦One major problem facing the world today is the loss of biodiversity, mostly through the destruction of natural habitat. Zoos may seem a poor solution to this problem. However, the animals in zoos are representatives not only of their species, but also of the natural habitats where they are usually found.
¡¦Raising public awareness of habitat loss is not just a question of statistic – thousands of hectares lost here, hundreds of species lost there. We must make people connect to the plants and animals with which we share this world. Zoos perform this task better than any other institution.
¡¦Zoos across the globe are working together to recover endangered species and reintroduce them to their original habitats. Indeed, many zoos today are not just looking after animals in their care, but also carrying out programs in the wild. Zoos are actively supporting national parks and other habitat protection projects around the world.
¡¦True, conditions inside zoos can never duplicate those of nature. yet the conditions animals experience in captivity, though artificial, are not wholly negative to their wellbeing. In the wild, many animals suffer from predation, hunger and disease. In zoos they have none of these worries. Moreover, modern zoos provide enriching environments in which animals can find playful and safe interactions with other species. Most zookeepers accept that the living conditions in zoos are far from perfect, but they are often the best that can be provided for species which would otherwise be in sever danger in the wild.
È¿Âаո«
¡¦Animal rights supporters have denounced zoo owners as cheap exploiters and immoral traders of wildlife, and the zoos themselves as prisons.
¡¦Zoos are essentially unchanged from ancient times. Until the 19th century, zoos were maintained so that aristocrats, emperors and royalty could display their power, money, and privilege. The animals were chosen for their rarity, strength and exoticism, as if to affirm the owner¡Çs status.
¡¦Without doubt, keeping wild animals in captivity is morally indefensible. Wild animals are taken from their homes, transported great distances, and kept in alien environments where their liberty is severely restricted. What and how they eat, and their routine social interactions, are all tightly controlled.
¡¦Between 1640, when the first chimp was brought to Europe for display, and the 1930s, when medical advances were made, virtually all chimpanzees which were brought to zoos died within a year. Now we know why: chimps easily fall victim, to colds and other human disease.
¡¦The main reason people pay money to visit zoos is to see big, exotic animals. However, many of these species, such as polar bears, elephants, lions and tigers, require wide spaces to roam, and are therefore unsuited to captivity. Most polar bears, for example, are forced to live in spaces which are one-millionth the size of their natural range. Unsurprisingly, most bears in zoos spend much of their time walking round and round the cage, and their unhappiness results in two out of three baby bears dying within a year.
¡Ú²òÅúÎã¡Û
¡¡I don¡Çt think we should have zoos in Japan, because zoo animals are not happy to live in captivity. I know some people claim that zoos have an important role in protecting or studying endangered animals. However, protecting and studying them does not necessarily mean that they must be captured and brought from their natural habitats to zoos. If you are to protect them, you must conserve the whole environment which they live in. And, in the natural environment, you can study their natural behavior and this will give us the chance to know how to help reproduce themselves. (99 words)

At present, non-Japanese citizens who are permanent residents of Japan do not have the right to vote in national elections. In your opinion, is this policy appropriate?¡¡¡Ê£²£°£±£µ¡¦Áá°ðÅÄÂç³Ø¡¦Ë¡³ØÉô¡Ë
(¥ª¥ê¥¸¥Ê¥ë²òÅú)
I don¡Çt think this policy is appropriate. Permanent residents should be given the right to vote in national elections. The reason why I support the idea of giving then the right to vote is that they have to participate in deciding important policies which greatly affect their own life in japan. They live in Japan and fulfil duties such as paying taxes. However, they don¡Çt be given the right to vote, the right to decide important issues. This is unfair. Some people may object that because permanent residents have foreign roots, it lures them to betray Japan in an emergency like war with foreign countries. However, this kind of danger is expected not only from those having foreign roots but also from Japanese nationalities. Nationality in itself doesn¡Çt become guarantee of someone being loyal to their mother country. So as long as permanent residents carry out their duties in Japanese society, they should enjoy the same right as Japanese people.(160 words)

¡¡¡¡I think the appropriate age at which people are responsible for crime is fourteen as it is in Japan. This is because those around the age of fourteen can recognize what they are doing and the results which their action causes. In the past, youth crime was punished after they turned 16. So there was actually a 15-year-old young person who committed a crime purposefully because he wouldn¡Çt be punished due to his age. To prevent such cases, the law was changed and now fourteen is the age when people are punished if they commit a crime. However, young criminals should be treated differently from adult offenders. Young people have not yet developed in his judgement and lack life experiences. Therefore, if they commit a crime, they shouldn¡Çt be severely punished. Instead, they must be made to reflect on what they have done and educated to restart a social life. (150 words)
