[EPA]、[DHA]、[α-

flaxoil

To tell the truth, Panda is helth concious, in spite of his appearance.
Recently, Panda's greatest concern is "good oil".
What's that "good oil" is about?
To be in good health, should you cut down on your intake of salt?
No, shouldn't do.
There is "good oil" which helps to burn fat and keep your health.
That is one of the hottest issue among health geeks ―― omega-3 fatty acid !
EPA, DHA and Alpha-Linolenic Acid.
Today, Panda was hunting for that superb oil and went to Maruetsu @Seishin-cho.
However he wondered if the nearby supermarket had such a special grocery.
As panda guessed, the nearby supermarket doesn't have plenty of "good oils",
today he found and bought the one ――
Flaxseed oil】 by Benibana Food co., inc.
It costed 988yen (net weight 170g).
Panda is basically stingy though, he is willing to pay only for his health.
If it's not for health, he will never buy such an expensive food.
Anyway, panda wishes if there's a wide variety of healthy foods and products in Seishin-cho, our neighboring stores.

convini

pearltower

May 23th, 2010.
Panda went out for a stroll on Shanghai in the night.
Left Xintiandi for Shanxi Nan Lu.
The bustling streets with some department stores, restaurants and so on, roadside trees were lit up and shining.
An elevated way in that area was also lit up by blue color lighting.
The mysterious and uncanny lighting color brought about Asian mood.
Panda found Hello Kitty package. Those were assorted lavors and were sold at a Japanese quality supermarket on the street.
Many Japanese characters seem have been having high popularity among Chinese people, anyway.
The night view of Pudong area was really cool.
It's just like a bright lights, big city.
Although Panda doesn't know why, the design of Oriental Pearl Tower, also commonly known as TV tower, reminds Panda of Osamu Tezuka's manga.
Panda got in Shanghai World Financial Center and went to observatory on the 100th floor!
The view from the 100th floor was just amazing and it's way beyond description!
Panda had to wake up early in the next morning, May 24th, 2010.
The flight no. MU537 and the plane left Shanghai at 08:55.
It was relief to can wake up such early and can make the flight.
Everything was dynamic and powerful in China, opposite to Japan that the economy still remain stagnant.
Especially, people coming to the big city:Shanghai from other areas seemed very excited.
It is often said that people in that country never line in row and it was not surprising that they break into the line.
However, Panda was not sure whether the reputation was true or not.
Because Panda also dislike to line in row and avoided to go crowded places.
Actually, many people spoke loudly and had dramatic gesture, so they seemed extremely self-assertive.

On the other hand, Whenever Panda took a taxi, Panda had rarely seen a driver who had no manners.
Some shop staffs, especially young clerk, were amiable and friendly.
They seemed try to communicate with us voluntarily by speaking English.
And they didn't force us to buy their products or services.
That made Panda surprised.
Panda feel that the country is going beyond its bad images as in the past.

subway

May 23th, 2010.
It's the second day in Shanghai.
Here's the main event of this trip, Shanghai EXPO.
Panda headed to EXPO by subway.
Subway stations in the city were clean and modern.
However people in there don't have manners like Japanese
do, such as making way for each other.
On the way to EXPO, I often saw lots of high-rise apartment buildings in many places.
Those housing might support China's exploding population.
According to a chinese living in Shanghai, there is the area many Japanese businesmen live.
I'm sorry I forgot the name of town, there also are many high-rise apartment buildings and the rent is about two hundred thousand yen a month, he said.
Of course, it depends on the area, floor space and so on, I feel the rent is fairly expensive compare with other living expenses in that country.
Finally panda got to the site of EXPO, there were so many people as I expected.
The site was filled with enthusiasm.
Panda hates to stand in line, indeed.
So I could observe only few pavilions that were not so crowded.
So I got in the North Korea's pavilion which is located at the end of Asian zone.
I also could saw the Iran's pavilion which is in next to the North Korea's.
Many asked what for I went to Shanghai and EXPO, though, it's okay.
I just wanted to enjoy the atmosphere of there, the present conditions.
EXPO has two sites, Puxi area and Pudong area.
You can come and go the two sites by ship.
On the waterway, you can enjoy the dinamic view of shanghai that reflects the city's growth.
After quick visiting of EXPO, Panda left for Shanghai Museum.
It's the outstanding museum in Shanghai which possesses about twelve thousand of art objects and historical records.
I could see Chinese old arts and crafts, ethnic costumes, old notes/coins and so on.
Then Panda went to Xintiandi.
It's the leading fashionable spot in Shanghai.
There are many brand shops, cozy cafes, popular restaurants, cinema and so on.
Panda enjoyed dinner at a Chinese restaurant in there.
There were full of people inside the restaurant on Sunday evening.
It has modern, cool interior. The dishes were also stylish and fairly tasty.

食事はfish or beef。

inflightmeal02

airplane

coffeeshop

rafflescity

cocoichi

watami

huoguo

gym

shanghaidora

haibao@nanjing

yoshinoya@nanjing

pudong←bund

As Panda is running short of Seishin-cho topics recentry, that made me decide to leave for abroad.
Got on board a plane on May 22th 2010. The flight no. is MU538, China Eastern Airline.
The plane left Haneda, Tokyo for Shanghai at 13:30.
It did not take us long to get to the destination, Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport.
The flight time is just within three hours.
After getting there, Panda walked about People's Square where is in center of the city.
Raffles City is a shopping mall which is very popular among young Shanghai people.
The mall has many foreign brand shops.
There also are variety of restaurants and food court on the basement and 6th floor.
Many of them adopts Japanese style of food such as iron plate dishes, Ramen noodle and so on.
There is Coco Ichi: Japanese popular curry rice chain, too.
And also, Watami: Japan's major Izakaya bar chain seems going to open soon in the shopping mall.
Panda had a meal at a "huo guo" diner. Huo guo is a kind of hot pot and people cook vegetables and meat by themselves.
Although Panda is not used to eating by that style, some diner's staffs were trying to explain about menu and how to eat by their little bit clumsy English.
Of course, also panda is not a fluent English speaker, it was not easy to communicate each other.
Anyway, Panda was surprised little and impressed.
Because Panda expected that every Chinese staff was unsociable and not kind.
The meal at there costed about 30 yuan.
The exchange rate is now 13~14 yen to 1 yuan, May be.
Both Chinese yuan and Japanese yen are written as "¥".
That's very confusing, isn't that?
I often saw Hai Bao, a mascot character of Shanghai EXPO.
Now he appeared in many places of the city.
By the way, a mascot character of London Olympic seems not popular so far.
The river side of Bund commands a fine view of Bund's skyscraper.
The view is fantastic and many must think that's what Shanghai's view is about.
I was sorry that it was cloudy though, even if it's fine weather, Shanghai always has a hazy sky.
Is it due to just air pollution?
That reminded me ―― After I got to Shanghai,
I had a sore throat and itchy eyes.
No, it was just my imagination. I hope.

[Keisei Rose Garden]

Occasionally, panda wants to go out by train.
Today I went to Keisei Rose Garden in Yachiyo-shi, Chiba prefecture.

To go there, you take Tosai Line from Nishikasai station.
Then you change to the Toyo Kosoku Line at Nishifunabashi, and get off at Yachiyo Midorigaoka.
The train is operated by the Third Sector and is notorious for its expensive fares.

【fares】
the base fare: 1-3km 200yen
4-5km 280yen
6-7km 350yen
8-9km 420yen

The rate looks as 2.5times as JR's.
Incidentally, it costs 490yen from Nishifunabasi to Yachiyo Midorigaoka.
From Nishikasai to the destination, it costs 720yen. That's quite expensive!

Anyway, Keisei Rose Garden has held "Rose Festival" from May 7th to June 13th.
However, the roses in the garden hasn't bloomed well.
The garden has a thousand kind, seven thousand of roses and is thirty thousand square kilometers in area.
If it's in full blossom, it would be really beautiful and superb.

In the area, there also are garden center where you can purchase potted roses, a restaurant, a bakery cafe with a stone oven and so on.
And also, variety kind of open-air concerts, exhibitions, seminars related to rose are having held in the garden.
It seems you can even have a wedding ceremony in there, surrounded by thousands of roses!

Today, when I paid for admission, a ticket officer gave me a 500yen discount ticket I can use next coming.
I suppose to come back when the rose blossoms are in bloom.
