Vietnam - A Country of Fabric Masks !

Since before Coronavirus spreads, Vietnamese people wear face masks when they ride motorbikes to protect themselves from exhaust gas. We can see colorful face masks sell in markets.

"MARI MASK"- A Vietnam Style Fabric Mask

Here is the picrure of a Vietnam Style face mask !

MARI, my aunt who lived in Vietnam before, made a pattern and easy instruction of "how to make Vietnam Style Fabric Mask" for herself, her family and her firiends.

It is only 5 steps and quite easy to make it, so I would like to share the pattern and instruction in this blog.

Let's make maskes and stay peacefully at home !

She makes face masks using a variety of cloths she bought in many countries, and they are so nice.
And she also says that using Zpagetti for earloop makes your ears comfortable, and if you have not Zpagetti, you can make elastic earloops from an old T-shirt or stockings.

We add a pattern for kids!

MARI wrote each length, so if you have not a printer, I think you can draw pattern by yourself.

Here is the instruction with picutres

MARI teachs you how to make it with pictures.

Normally she does not use talor's chalk, but she draws lines for this instruction.

This time, she makes a mask from an old shirt with blue flower pattern that she bought at "Bunga" in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The right side of the mask will be the flower patterned cloth, while the wrong side will be white cloth.

Step1
Fold the cloth wrong side out
Put the patter on it, and pin together
Cut the cloth along the pattern

Cut the first cloth (this will be the right side of mask)
