Time flies.

Its been more than a half year since I arrived at CPILS in Cebu. I stayed there for 14 weeks and came back to Japan. Then I started working at a software company in Tokyo. I worked there for about three months and I came to China. I am going to go back to Japan in three weeks. But I might come to China again in a few months. Time flies.

Departure Terminal at Mactan Airport

I am at Departure Terminal at Mactan Airport now. I am leaving Cebu, Philippine. It has been 101 days since my first arrival. Time flies. I can clearly remember the first day I came here. It was hot dry day. I met one Japanese lady at Mactan Airport. We were picked up by CPILS staff and went to CPILS. At first, I thought I came to wrong place but I could enjoy a lot and I have studied a lot during my stay in Cebu.

Good-bye, Cebu!!

Leyte

Leyte

---
77th day July 28th Saturday

Today was the day to go to Leyte. Before writing diary, I would like to explain why I decided to go to Leyte.
It was June 29th 2007, 16:27:02. I was at Internet Zone in CPILS and was just browsing the Internet. I suddenly got a message from a person named Christine. The message was like this.
“hello...christine here from philippines”
“care to chat?”
At the time, we did not chat a lot. Actually we had not chatted a lot but she suddenly asked me to visit Leyte a week ago. At first I was planned to go there by myself. But Haro a Japanese guy who is in his late-20s forcibly joined me with a beautiful lady Mirai. He asked me to invite more beautiful ladies that I reluctantly invited Tina. He found another beautiful lady Rachel the other day.
In short, I was going to go there with Tina, Rachel, Haro, Mirai.

This morning, I got up at 8 am. At first, I tried to contact Christine who invited us to Leyte. Leyte is one of the big islands in Philippines. It is located next to Cebu island. It takes two and a half hours to go there. Anyway I sent her text message and called her via Skype. She asked me if we are going to her hometown or not. To tell you the truth, I had not made any concrete schedule so I adopted the suggestion. Because of her accent and my bad listening skill, it took about six minutes to make sure how we meet in Leyte. In short, we were to meet in Ormoc, Leyte. All I had to do was to call her when we arrive in Ormoc.

After confirming the schedule, I picked my baggage and went in front of CPILS. But there were only Haro and Rachel. Tina and Mirai did not appear by the time I designated. It was quite predictable thing to me. They frequently do not attend the first classes. Anyway I called their room but none of them answered so I went in front of their room and kicked their doors. I could successfully wake up Tina but not Mirai. Time was limited that we gave up Mirai and headed for a port and took SuperCat to go to Ormoc, Leyte.

The cruise was quite comfortable but it was delayed about 20 minutes. After arriving at Ormoc, I called Christine. She asked us to wait for a while. We were a bit hungry so we went to a Chinese fast food restaurant, Chowking. We ate Halohalo and some Chinese dishes. It was really good. I thought Chowking could have good business in Japan. Anyway we waited for Christine and she turned up with her friend. At first, we went to Christine's place to pick her baggage up. She has 5 roommates excluding her. It looked small for six but must be common residence for students living apart from their parents. She lives in Ormoc but went back to her hometown Baybay every weekend. We headed for her hometown Baybay by bus. Baybay is located 43 km south of Ormoc. It took more than one hour and cost Php 40 a person. I sat next to Christine. I talked with her something and slept for a while.

At Baybay, we met her parents working in variety store. They welcomed us and we headed to their house. The house was in the suburb of Baybay. It was surrounded by forest. There were banana plants near the house; more than one hundred bananas were on the top of each banana plant. That was the first time I saw bananas hanging on a banana plant.
Anyway we went into their house. The house was not so big but fully equipped with electrical products. There was a PC with 19 inch flat screen, a good audio system, a big TV, a microwave oven, a refrigerator and so on. They must be quite rich family in Philippines.
At the house, they kindly served Coke and bread and so on. They welcomed us and introduced themselves. Their family was quite big. Christine has three siblings and her mother has ten siblings. I asked Christine the number of her cousin but she could not count it. Some of her relatives are working in foreign countries. Anyway they were truly accommodating people and help us find the place to stay that night. The place was close to their house. We rent two twin rooms. It cost Php 300 for each room, Php 150 a person.

After checking in the hotel, we went to GodFather a Filipino restaurant. We ate seafood, pork and so on and danced for a while. Christine was good at dance but I was not at all. Anyway we enjoyed dinner and headed to Port of Baybay. There were many couples sitting on the seawall. Haro was sitting next to Rachel, I was sitting next to Christine and Tina was walking by herself. We, I and Christine, were just like friends but Haro and Rachel were like a couple. I talked to Christine nothing more than the schedule tomorrow. Christine is going to come to our hotel 7 am tomorrow morning. We are going to go to market and buy something for breakfast. Then we are going to go to Scandinavia resort tomorrow. Our departure time from Ormoc is going to be 8:55 pm.
There were some vendors in the Park. I bought fried fish and a cup of mango shake. Fried fish cost one peso a piece and mango shake cost five peso a cup. It was much cheaper than the prices in Cebu.

78th day July 29th Sunday
Today I got up at seven. Just after I got up, Christine came to my room. Three of us were still sleeping and did not want to get out of their beds so Christine and I left them and went to market near the hotel. We bought fish, mango, orange and pork. I paid everything but was not a big deal at all. We went back to the hotel to pick the others up and dragged them to Christine's house. We ate breakfast and headed to Scandinavia resort. Scandinavia resort is located between Baybay and Ormoc. It took about forty minutes from Baybay.

There were two swimming pools, many lodges, and many cottages in Scandinavia resort. We rented a lodge and enjoyed swimming. The place was not as beautiful as a picture in its website but good enough to enjoy ourselves. Christine could not swim because of her health condition. The others swam in the pool and Christine shot movies and took pictures from the pool side.

We left the resort at five and headed for Ormoc. We could arrive Ormoc port well before the departure and successfully bought tickets. But SuperCat did not arrive on time. It arrive at Ormoc port 40 minutes behind the schedule and that disabled me to go back to CPILS. We arrived at Cebu port at 11:10. How could we go back to CPILS? Anyway I stayed outside that night and went back to CPILS in Monday morning. I tried not to be seen but I was witnessed by many CPILS students.

Through the trip, I enjoyed Layte and got true friendship.

5-Middle
5-High
