Mai.K Diary updated ! & Special report - Mai Kuraki Live Tour 2009 "BEST" - HAPPY HAPPY HALLOWEEN LIVE (1) -
"Kikoku Shimashita (I've come back to Japan)〜(≧∇≦)"
Mai-K updated Mai.K Diary as soon as she came back to Japan yesterday.
Welcome home, Kuraki Mai-San! Many thanks for updating your blog though you must be tired from your live tour in Asia.
Mai-K came back to Japan yesterday at last. The live tour has been a great success. She tells us that she got marvelous experiences from the tour and thanks us so much for our support.
She will still hold her lives this year.
Finally, she said, "I'll do my best! always...".
***** Mai Kuraki Live Tour 2009 "BEST" - HAPPY HAPPY HALLOWEEN LIVE - *****
Today, next Sunday and Sunday after next, I'll report on Mai-K's "HAPPY HAPPY HALLOWEEN LIVE" held on Oct.31st.
On Oct.31th, I left home about 8:00AM and arrived at Nippon Budo Kan about 0:40PM.
The front of Nippon Budo Kan was decorated with dummies of orange-colored pumpkins, a scarecrow, etc. Some Mai-K fans having gathered there had disguised themselves with fancy dress for Halloween. I myself was wearing an orange-colored T-shirt.
Various kinds of souvenirs of the live were sold in the selling area. I bought a muffler-type towel, a strap with a projector to throw Mai-K's logo and a set of seals for Halloween. After buying them, I talked with some Mai-friends for a while and had supper with some of them. As a result, I had a pleasant time even before the live.
It was about 5:40PM that I entered the hall. And, I was surprised to see the arena on entering there. Not only a sub-stage connected with the main stage by Hanamichi (*) had been settled at the center of the arena but also loop Hanamichi had skirted along the stands of the 1st floor. Furthermore, in front of the south stand, the height of the Hanamichi had been the same as that of the front of the stand. It would mean that the audience who got seats of the south stand of the 1st floor near the Hanamichi was so lucky. I was afraid my seat was on the stand of the 2nd floor. I could hardly see the Hanamichi from the position of my seat.
Until the opening, street performances were played on the Hanamichi. So, the audience couldn't be bored during the waiting time.
About 6:10PM, bells rang, and fire and white smoke broke out on the stage. To my surprise, Mai-K appeared out of them, in a mantle and a steeple-crowned cap. Her style was really witches'.
The opening number was "Fairy tale - my last teenage wish -". I think the world of the song suits the atmosphere of Halloween very well. Including it, 4 songs in the album "FAIRY TALE" were performed in this live.
The costumes of the dancers in the performace of "Fairy tale" were fine classical dance dress. Adding to the stage set, Mai-K's costume, the dancers' and the number has contributed the increase of the atmosphere of Halloween so much.
The 2nd number was "Revive". After it, 3 numbers in Mai-K's albums were performed. The 6th one was "Kiss". Next, a lot of photos that showed Mai-K's tracks of the last decade were projected on the left screen and the right one of the stage. After the performance, the biggest surprise in this live has come.
To be continued.

Special report - Mai Kuraki Live Tour 2009 "BEST" - Live in Kaizuka (3) -
After the performance of "BE WITH U", Mai-K appeared on stage again urged by "Mai-K call" of the audience and the encore began.
Her hair was let down then. By the way, I like that hairstyle of hers best of all hers. She was wearing a T-shirt or a tank top with the logo of the 10th anniversary of her debut.
The 1st number of the encore was "chance for you". This time, she sang 'for' of the last phrase so〜so〜so〜 long. That's like Mai-K to be able to sing so!
The 2nd one was "Love, Day After Tomorrow". And, the next one was "always". . . . This number was the last one?? "touch Me!" hadn't be sung yet!!
After all, "touch Me!" wasn't performed in this live and the live ended about 8:50PM. The number of songs performed in the live was 23.
"De-machi" began in the lobby about 10:00PM. About 400 fans gathered there.
First, Mai-K appreciated our support. Next, as usual, she sang "chance for you" together with us and we performed the 'diamond' wave twice. After that, Mai-K left the lobby touching the air with both hands. And, "De-machi" finished about 10:30PM after Tomasu-San's short talk.
Now, I'll write my impressions of the live.
First, the hall had been tremendously alive from the first. It surprised even Mai-K.
Mai-K's singing was so good. She could reach the high notes, and sang free and easy. Especially, her singing of ballads was so wonderful. On her costumes (4 kinds?), they were rich in variety and pleasing to me. Particularly, "cream puff dress"!! It made her so cute. Moreover, her hairstyles were thought out. It was the first time in her live for her to show her hair combed straight back from her forehead, wasn't it?
The performance of the band was better than that in the lives of "touch Me!" tour. The dancing of the dancers was nice. I think Mai-K is now on the track to increase entertainmentability in her live. Dancing of good quality will be essential to it. I consider their nice dancing has contributed to the great success of her lives in Makuhari.
I enjoyed the dance performances of this live - from elegant dancing to energetic one - so much as well as the various costumes of the dancers. Especially, a comical performance of "Feel fine!" impressed me.
The staging was standard compared with that of her lives in Makuhari. I think it was enough one for such a middle-scale hall.
In conclusion, I think this live was very good one considering it was the 2nd live of her live tour of this year.
Finally, I'd like to thank Mai-K, the band, the chorus, the dancers, all the staff, all the audience and all Mai-friends who joined in the live very much.

Mai.K Diary has been updated 4 times recently. Kuraki Mai-San, thank you so much though you are busy with the preparation for your live tour in Asia.
I'll summarize the articles briefly today.
♪(^∀^)ノ dated Oct.25th, 2009
On the day, Mai-K made a recording of her new (?) song in the studio.
She was preparing for her live tour in Asia while recording. Moreover, she has been studying Korean for her live in Korea recently. And, she found a Korean word so easy to memorize on the day. It's "Majimaguro(?)" that means "last (finally)" in English. The word has reminded her and her staff of 2 Japanese words. They were "Maji (really)" and "Maguro (tuna)". So, they shouted "Maji de! Maguro!" repeatedly. Mai-K writes in the article that "Majimaguro" has been an unforgettable word for her.
She was to contribute an article in the studio the next day (Actually, she didn't.).

However, it was like an outside broadcasting from a club offering live music as a stage was set up in the studio and as the audience enjoyed the performance of Mai-K in standing.
"Gest Lovers" were Yun Sona-San and Otoha-San who were big fans of Mai-K. They have already been married and have children. There were some talks among them in the program. Yun Sona-San, who is a Korean personality being active also in Japan, is a Mai-K fan from Mai-K's debut.
Mai-K is so glad to perform in front of them and talk with them in the progrom.
According to the article, Kiritampo(*) Festival was held on the day. Mai-K went there and ate Kiritampo. A photo taken at that time is attached to the article.

Special report - Mai Kuraki Live Tour 2009 "BEST" - Live in Kaizuka (2) -
Now, the live concert began about 6:30PM.
The stage set was similar to that of her live held in Makuhari in last July though the scale was smaller. The opening number was "Baby I Like", which was also the opening one in the live in Makuhari. Mai-K appeared in the center of the stage wearing a minidress. From the first, the hall had been very alive. Mai-K also said, "(The hall is ) So alive!!" in her first talk.
Although the songs performed in this live were less than those in the live in Makuhari, the set list was like that in that live. "Time after time - Hana Mau Machi de -" I like best of all Mai-K's songs and "Secret of my heart" I like second best of them were sung, too, though artificial petals didn't whirl down in the performance of the former. By the way, I like to enjoy the performance of the latter without clapping better.
After the performance of "Secret of my heart", Mai-K disappeared from stage and "Ashita e Kakeru Hashi " was performed by instruments with a chorus.
After the performance, Mai-K appeared on stage again. Her costume was light yellow (ivory?) minidress then. It looked like a mini version of a classical dancing dress. She called the dress a "creampuff dress" in her talk. It made her look cute as if she had been an idol. She sang ballads - "Stay by my side", "Aitakute", "The ROSE - melody in the sky -" and "Beautiful" in this dress.
I think a long dress is fitter for ballads than a minidress. However, her singing was very good. Especially, her singing of "The ROSE - melody in the sky -" was excellent. Also, I felt she sang "Beautiful" freely and easily. Her moving singing of the ballads made my eyes wet with tears. Listening to her ballads always gives me supremely happy time.
After singing ballads, she disappeared from stage, and the dancers performed their dance. After that, Mai-K appeared on stage in tights with her hair combed straight back from her forehead. I saw such her hairstyle for the first time.
First, she sang "Make my day", and up-tempo numbers followed it without stopping. The heated atmosphere of the hall came to a crest at that time.
Although the stage effects that pillars of fire rose on the edge of stage were not performed in the performance of "PERFECT CRIME", Mai-K and the dancers performed "Diamond Wave" swinging towels around as doing so in the live in Makuhari. In the last part of performance of "Ichi Byo Goto ni Love for you", Mai-K ran around on the stage from end to end a few times. She was so energetic and aggressive.
The last number of the main part of the live was "BE WITH U". The main part of the live concert ended about 8:30PM.
To be continued.

*** Mai Kuraki Live Tour 2009 "BEST" - Live in Kaizuka - ***
Now, I'd like to report on the live of "10th Anniversary Mai Kuraki Live Tour 2009 "BEST"" held in Kaizuka, Osaka on Aug.8th.
I arrived at the hall "Cosmos Theater" where the live was held about 0:30pm. There had already been some of Mai-friends there. I passed about an hour with them at a coffee shop in the hall. About 1:30pm, we gathered at the spot where Iri-machi would be held.
After a while, we moved near a tour truck decorated with pictures related to Mai-k's new album "ALL MY BEST". It was so hot on the day. It was about 15:00pm that Mai-K reached there and that Iri-machi began.
Mai-K were wearing a pink tank top and white pants. About 80 - 90 fans of hers had gathered there then. In Iri-machi, after Tomasu-San's and Mai-K's greetings and talks, one of the staff took 6 photos of the fans together with Mai-K against a background of the truck.
By the way, surprisingly enough, 4 of the photos were taken with some fans' digital cameras. So, I could got one of the photo files later.
Iri-machi finished about 3:30pm.
And, I had early supper with some of Mai-friends at a restaurant near the hall. After supper, I went back to the hall and bought a booklet and a key ring for the live tour at the counter for live goods. I entered the lobby about 5:10pm. And, it was about 6:00pm that I entered the concert hall, though the doors were to open at 5:30pm, as trouble of the concert equipment developed.
My seat was in the 12th row. The position was fairly near the stage. The performance began about 6:30pm after a delay of 30 minutes.
To be continued.
