Marrowfat peas
cooking instructions:
Empry contents of packet into a large soucepan. Pour over sufficient boiling water to cover about 1 litre (2 pints), allowing room for swelling. Add one of the enclosed white tablets and stir until dissolved.
Allow to stand overnight or for 12 hours. Strain the peas and rinse with fresh water. Return to saucepan and cover with boiling water. Add the remaining tablet and sugar to taste. Simmer gently for approximately 20 min. Seasons to taste and serve with hot butter.

white tabletの記述がおもしろく、また英語の感じがなんともいえずで。イギリスのレシピ、古い時代のとかはとくに英語が表現が魅力的なのだけど、この簡潔なお豆の作り方もなにか、くるね。
