＃たぶん祈ってくれる人が見てくれると信じて、、、


お祈りのお願いです。

私の大学で、学部生向けのチャペルでメッセージをすることになりました。
まったく、予想もしていませんでした。
１０００人以上の前でメッセージするのは初めてです。

「一生で一度の機会」と言ったらメンターに、「一生で初めての機会だろ？これから何度も何度もやるんだろ？」と言い直されました。はぁ、、、ポジティブに考えるって奥深い。


年末にキャンプで、若者に福音をシェアしたいという気持ちを再び与えられて、何か神様は道を作ってくださるのだろうと思いました。でもこんな素晴らしい機会が与えられるとは想像もつきませんでした。

これで終わりではなく、自分の教会でも色々なことをするのだと思うのですが、これも一つの祈りの答えというか、自分はこの方向で良いのだという印だと受け止めています。感謝します。


真に油注ぎがなされ、この足りない器を通して神様がなさることを楽しみにしてください。
そしてお祈りでこの働きに加わってください。2月10日金曜日のチャペルです。
できれば「祈ってるよ」って教えてください。励まされます。

「心の改革」という２回のメッセージシリーズで、第一週を（もう一人のメンターでもある）キャンパスパスターが、次の週を私が担当します。
一週目はマルコ１：１４−１５から「神の国」、私が話す二週目は次の１６−１７節から、「Come Follow Jesus イエスについていく」です。

キャンパスパスターは、以前に私の召命の証しを聴いています。
日本でビジネスマンをやっていてそこそこ上手くいっていた（自分的には、かなりw）のに、教会を建て上げるビジョンが魅力的になって抗えなくなり献身した、という話をとても気に入ってくれています。そして、このメッセージシリーズにぴったりだからやろう、と言ってくれました。

彼は日本人・アジア人でクリスチャンではない学生（うちの大学みたいなところにも、ときどき知らずに入学してくるんです。こちらは嬉しいけど、、ww）が増えてきたのを見て、同じアジア人の私が語ることに意味があると言います。さらに、アメリカンの学生も自分の繁栄・成功だけを見つめる生き方ではない別の視点を聞いて、チャレンジを受けるはずだと。

うーん、このように書いているとなんだか期待が大きいわけですが、私はできることを自分のスタイルでするだけです。

ただし、メッセージそのもの、証し、お気に入りの例話、ビデオを含めたビジュアルエイドなど、かなり自分でも良いものを凝縮してメッセージを作っていますので、自分の最高傑作に仕上げるつもりです。
その一部をこのブログでも何回かに分けてシェアできたらいいのかななんて思っています（いつだよ！w）

メッセージをしていくなかで、日本の話もちょっとだけ出てきます。
それを今日は分かち合います。


渋谷のハチ公前ストリートが出てきます。私が高校生伝道をしていた団体の本拠地がこの渋谷にあります。
ここで、朝もはよからガイジンたち（笑）とビラを配っていたわけです。

日本語では「スクランブル交差点」ていいますけど、英語ではなんていうんでしょうね、とにかくあの場所の写真を見せる予定です。

数分に一度信号がグリーンになって、一斉に何百人という人がすれ違う。そしてすぐ赤になる。
でも次に信号が変わるときまでには、どこからか次の人々がやってきて、また何百人という人が行き交う。

とにかく、とんでもない数の人々が、この小さな場所に集まっているのです。

これが東京、渋谷。
私はここで育ったので、この街のクレージーさが大好きです。

みなさんには、

渋谷とDown Town LAの違いが分かりますか？
渋谷とNew York City、あるいはロンドンの違いが分かりますか？


渋谷の写真には、こんなにたくさんの人が写っているのに、ほとんどクリスチャンがいないんです。

日本ではクリスチャンの人口は0.3%。
100人すれ違ったら、その中にクリスチャンは一人も居ない。


0.3%。
イスラム教国より少ない。
激しい迫害がある国より少ない。
共産主義国よりも、いま話題の独裁者国家よりも、少ない。

世界最強の反キリスト教国家です。

それが私の心を揺さぶりました。
それだからこそ、神様は私を召されたし、またその場所に送り返そうとされているのです。

なーんて話もします。
できるだけ笑いで学生をひきつけたいんですが、このあたりだけはどうしてもちょっとSeriousになるかもしれません。。。でもtoo seriousになると気まずいのでやっぱりカジュアルに行きますけど、、、ｗ


本番に向けてあと2週間のプロセス、お祈りで応援をよろしくお願いします。

多少緊張するのは人間として自然なことです。楽しみな気持ちをキープし、パッションをぶつけてきます！
ほんとに忙しすぎて、、、毎日に賢く対処することも求められていますし、この準備のステップのうちに神様が働かれるようお祈りください！

The Winning "Attitude"

oneword365.comに影響を受けたので、2012のためのone wordを考えてみることにします。
たしかに長いNew Year's resolutionsを書いても、忘れるもんね。

さて、今年のone wordは？

今年は"Attitude"。
これしかないと思う。先月からとても良い信仰書を読んでるんだけど、Attitudeという言葉が心にとどまってる。元日のメッセージも"A New Attitude"というタイトルで、Attitudeの重要性を学んだ。

私のメンターも、正しいAttitudeの重要性を教えてくれた。
彼は、どんなときでも変わらずに人を大切に扱う。
彼はリーダーのAttitudeを示してくれる。仕えられることよりも仕えることを、愛されるよりも愛することを、求めている。

Winter Breakのキャンプのために祈って下さった方、ありがとうございました!!!


年末にRedwood Christian Campというキャンプ場に行ってきました。夏もここでキャンプをしましたが、美しい自然に囲まれていて癒されます。

キャンプ全体で日本人は私だけです。
私は大学生のキャビンを担当しました。

彼らと共に過ごせたこと、本当に感謝でした。男だらけのキャンプ生活、すごく楽しかった。
寝袋ですごすのも、キャンプっぽくて良かったです。


そして、、、同じキャビンの大学生が一人、Jesusを心に受け入れました！
本当に素晴らしいことです。

1対1で話して誰かをJesusに導いたのは久しぶりでした。それこそ一年以上、そんな機会から遠ざかってました。

それに英語で誰かを導くなんて、できると思ってなかった。
これは神の助けによる結実以外の何ものでもありません。

彼とは色んなことをたくさん話して、本当に仲良くなりました。

何よりそれぞれの信仰をシェアすることによって、本当に分かり合えた気がします。
毎月南CAに遊びに来てくれるって言うし。これからが楽しみです。


これから彼を通してどんな素晴らしいことが起こっていくんでしょう。
また忘れられない人が一人、増えました。


彼は教会で育っていません。教会に初めて来てから、まだ半年。

バックグラウンドが弱いので、彼のために祈ってほしいんです。
信仰が成長するように。家族に証しができるように。

SanFranciscoからの帰り道、彼のことを思い出して喜びをかみしめながら、同時に、神を知らない人生はなんて空しいんだろうと思った。


こんなことを書くと怒られてしまうかもしれないが、神を知らない人生は空しい。


特に日本の若者を想うと、心が叫びをあげる。

「神は居ない」と教えられて育って、その世界観で生きていかなければならない。


本当に自分は偶然の産物として生まれたのだろうか？
本当に生きる目的は自分で探さなければならないのだろうか？
そんな考えの行き着く先はdead endだと分かっているのだろうか？

日本人は、99.7%が神の存在を信じていない。日本社会においては、人生の意味も、目的も、神の存在も、信仰も、一切問われることは無い。

そしてただ「人の前に」生きる。

「神の前に」生きて、初めて、人生は輝くと思う。

「あなたの若いうちに、あなたの創り主を覚えよ」
という言葉が聖書にあるけれども、若い人を見ると、神様を信じる人生に変えられてほしいと心から思う。


SanFranciscoから運転しながらずっとそんなことを考えていた。
涙が出てきた。
そして今年はまた、若者を導くことになるかもしれない、と思った。


私の開拓している教会に若者は居ない。
しかし神が望まれるなら、救いを必要としている若者と出会わせてくださると思う。今回のキャンプで、私とあの大学生をひき合わせてくださったように。




最後に"Attitude"の話に戻したいと思う。

映画Facing The Giantsの中でこういう会話がある。
アメフト部のコーチGrant TaylorとキャンパスパスターのMr.Bridgesの会話だ。

Grant: “I admit to you I have been struggling. But I’ve also been praying. I just don’t see Him at work here.”

Mr. Bridges: “Grant, I heard a story about two farmers who desperately needed rain. And both of them prayed for rain. But only one of them went out and prepared his fields to receive it. Which one do you think trusted God to send the rain?”

Grant: "The one that prepared his fields for it.”

Mr. Bridges: “Which one are you? God will send the rain when He’s ready. And you need to prepare your field to receive it.”


日本語訳：

Grant: 正直に言うとずっと葛藤しています。祈ってはいるんです、でも神様の働きが見えないんです。
Mr.Bridges: Grant, こんな話がある。二人の農夫が雨を必要としていた。二人とも祈った。しかし、そのうち一人だけが雨が降ったときに備えて畑を耕し続けた。どちらの農夫が神を信頼していると思う？
Grant: 畑を耕していたほうです。
Mr.Bridges: 君はどちらの農夫だ？神は時が来たら雨を降らせなさる。君の畑を耕すんだ。


今年のone wordは"Attitude"。
The Winning Attitudeで、神の恵みの雨を待ちたいと思う。

I'm going to Youth Camp in NorCali from tomorrow, and it would be the 10th time for me to go to SanFrancisco! It's the 6th time since I came here, and I know I am crazy. But I really love this beautiful city and people up there. I'm super excited to spend time with God's family and share with youth group.

Please be careful not only for his wonderful wonderful drawing, but also for what he's saying. He loves the nature, and probably I guess he knows the Creator of it. I imagine that this artist knows the existence of more excellent artist - God himself.

This semester I have been learning from the book of Genesis, all the way through the end of Deuteronomy. I was amazed by the beauty of Genesis chapter 1. It is not scientific explanations. It is all about worship. It is beautiful hymns to praise God the Creator. The world God created is so beautiful, because so is He!!!

Moneyball

It was a nice hangout with my best friend. We had our favorite burgers, talked a lot, laughed a lot, and watched the movie which had been in my mind-MONEYBALL.

If you like baseball, this must be really fun. Even if not, you can enjoy it. It is not about just a baseball. It is about a life.

Billy Beane, the general manager of Oakland Athletics baseball team is portrayed. He is definitely one of the most successful GMs in all professional sports in America. I knew about him, and Oakland A’s success story, but the movie is telling more in detail than I had known.

There were some superstars on the screen such as Jason Giambi, Derek Jeter, and Ichiro Suzuki!! I remember exciting seasons in row through 2001 to 2004. First of all, Seattle won 2001 year's American League west with their crazy record of 116-winning games because of Ichiro, and Yankees acquired Giambi from A’s at 2002. And Matsui came from Japan at 2003, hit the two-base from a star of Boston, and sat in a position of cleanup in the World Series. And then, at 2004, Boston finally defeated Yankees despite “curses.” The movie is the story of that time.

But the focus of the movie is A’s success story. They have far less amount of money as a budget than that of Yankees or Red-Sox. Billy called it “unfair game.” He is repeatedly asking his colleagues “what’s the problem?”. And something came upon him. He is a true critical thinker and got success by re-valuating players who were underestimated. And he shows a team-spirit and demands players to have mindsets of winners.

The film is based on the book “Moneyball” by Michael Lewis, and I ordered it at amazon.com right now! It would be my pastime to welcome a new year. I highly recommend the film. Bye!

Dead Sea Scrolls

Dead Sea Scrolls Link Past and Present - CBN.com by cbnonline

I finally saw the fragment of the Dead Sea Scroll!! My seminary has a fragment of Deuteronomy 27:4-6 (the picture above), and other four fragments. Today is a special day to open the fragments to people, so we were allowed to see. It was a tiny brown piece, and we could hardly see the Hebrew characters on it. But it was still amazing experience for me.

I am so sure that I don't forget a special lecture tonight. Samaritan scholar from Israel taught our class. In the beginning of the class, he said he is the 125th generation of his family. 125th! They can trace their origin unto all the way through the days of the Old Testament. They are sure that they are the descendants promised in the Pentateuch. Surprisingly, they are still worshiping Yahweh at Mount Gerizim! Don't you know Mt.Gerizim? It is the one that Samaritan woman and Jesus talked about in John 4, which says "Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain (4:20),,,,, the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth (4:23)."



Let's check the video in order to get better understanding of the Dead Sea Scrolls. It offers the very basic knowledge of it. The expert in the video is saying the Dead Sea Scrolls (DSS) was found in Judea wilderness. DSS was hidden in the caves called as Qumran caves, and a shepherd boy found it in 1947. This is the biggest archeological discovery in the 20th century.

Why is DSS so important?
I would simply say that it confirms our Bible. We cannot see any difference between our Bible and this Qumran document written in two thousands years ago. There is no difference/error between the Bible we have today, and the Bible Jesus read. Isn't it amazing?

Until DSS was discovered, we should have put our trust in the process of making manuscripts. Some scholars and Jewish scribes have been copying the Bible manually. It was a very careful process and needed a special discipline. But now, we can be so sure that the Bible of today is the exact same one of the ancient times.

From DSS, the entire book of Isaiah was found, and it is in the Israel museum. Luke told us that Jesus read the scroll of the Bible. Luke chapter 4 says "He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written (Luke 4:16-17)". This scroll was exactly like DSS. And he quoted Isaiah 61, it says "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. " The verses Jesus read is the exact same one we're reading now!

2000 years ago, DSS was read by Jesus and his contemporary Jews. And then, 2000 years later, it still speaks to us today.

Fantastic Fall, and Ten more days!!

Hi my precious friends, sorry not for updating. I have been badly sick and coughing terribly for these three weeks. I had a lot of things to do in weekdays, and I drove a lot in weekends. I was so tired and sick.

But I am in a process of recovery now. I hate going to hospital, but I finally got to there this week. Way to go! I realized my college APU has a good medical care. I didn't wait so long, and technicians/doctors are very nice people and they are all Christians. They said to me so caring words, showing sincere care and love,,, I felt like I should be there earlier. haha. So, I take some medicines and antibiotics. Now I'm much better! I believe I will be ready for winter vacation.

So, I have too much to say about things I've experienced in November. Firstly, I went to Nevada which is the eighth state for me, and enjoyed Vegas. Secondly, I had a wonderful Thanksgiving feast with my Indian friends in an international church near my home, and made friends from all over the world. And then, thirdly, I was invited to the amazing Brazilian families. They are a blessed Christian family who show God's love to others. They are the authentic people of God, who I've wanted to become.

I have to write about every events I've been going through within a couple of weeks. I will update them, so you can check it out.

We APU students are going through the dead week. We call the week before finals so. Why? Because everybody is almost dead! lol. Anyway, Ten More Days till my winter break! Thanks for your interest, and don't forget you are in my prayer!

教会にはドラマーが3人居るので、私が毎週叩いているわけではありません。
といって規則正しいローテーションでもなくて、謎の割り当て（リーダーの気分?)で担当が決まるので、9月のように毎週叩いていたときもあれば、今月のように1回だけのときもあります。

そんなわけで久々に今週の礼拝で叩きました。
本来ならドラムが出る幕ではないこの曲であっても、叩けと言われれば叩きます。
言われるとおりに何でもする、それが私のドラマーとしての良いところですね。こだわりゼロ笑、ってかmusic majorの奉仕者たちの話を聞いていると、そもそも音楽が分かってないんじゃないかな。笑

心いっぱい賛美を捧げました。今回は歌いながら叩きました。

Tangled

Tangledを観ました。

本当に素晴らしかった。
涙が止まらん、、、、両親との再会シーンはirresitableです。
最近泣いてばっかりだな、、、

映像も音楽もストーリーも全てが美しい。
Lanternのシーンが夢のように綺麗です。

一年に一度、夜空をLanternが埋め尽くす日がある。それを間近で見ることだけを夢見てきた少女が、遂にそれを目にした夜、、、、、そして少女が知らない、Lanternに込められた想い。あぁ、思い出したらまた泣けてきた。

何回観てしまうんでしょう。
しばらくはこれにはまりそうです。


Disneyは20年ぶりに、Aladinを超える作品を出しましたね。
CarsやToy StoryやNemoみたいな子ども向けも可愛いし大好きですが(DVD全部持ってます笑)、こういう大人向け映画こそ、ディズニーの得意とするところでもありますよね。これからも大人のための映画、作り続けてほしいです。

When God?

Andy Stanleyの最近のメッセージシリーズ When God?をお勧めします。

神様が、自分に注意を向けてくれず、助けてくれず、放っておかれるように思えるとき。
そんなとき、実際には何が起こっているのでしょうか。

新約聖書の3人の人物が出てきます。バプテスマのヨハネ、パウロ、ラザロ。
とても良いシリーズでした。神様の励ましを感じることができます。私はとても力を貰いました。特にseries 1が私には印象的でした。日本のクリスチャンたちを思って涙が出てしまいました。Jesusは私たちのことを本当に想っていてくれるんだ、、、

落ち込んでいる人、特に何がなくとも霊的な誘惑と戦っている人が、これを聴いて励まされるといいなあ。。。。

しかし彼らはこのエネルギーの使用をやめるという決断をしました。一週間前のことです。ドイツの影響もあったのでしょうか（これについてもいつか書こうかな）。感心しました。

私は原子力エネルギーの利用に反対しています。

自らの腹を満たすために次世代から色々なものを奪う。
私はそんな生き方は嫌いです。Youth Pastorを名乗ってた人間がそんなことできるかよ。

私は政治運動に興味がありませんが、自分の友人に影響を与えることには興味があります。

Nuclear Phase-Outという概念が広まってほしいと思っています。
Nuclear Power Phase Out
「すぐやめるのは無理 or 無理じゃない」という議論自体が作為的であると知ってください。元々、やめるのならば長い期間をかけてPhase-Outしていくものなのです。

私は自分の考えが、最近大きく変化しました。

自分だけではなく、誰かを守る人になりたい。
自分だけではなく、子どもたちが幸せになるために、自分の力を使いたい。

最近、そんなことを思うようになりました。
もう長いこと生きてしまったからでしょうか笑。


大人であるあなたは、自分で自分を守れるのかもしれない。
あなたが生きている間は、問題が起こらないかもしれない。
But my question is, who stands for the future generations?

Very Best

Thanks my friends for serving on the worship team. I was so blessed to be able to be a part of it. It is privilege for me to serve with my team which has lots of talents and great attitudes. I also like their "fun" spirit. A pastor told us that he would make us not like a job-team, but a community in Jesus.

The theme of our team is "communication". We tried to communicate people and to make them feel invited as a family. We tried to communicate each other. Moreover, the new challenge started, which is called "the song of perfection". Each worship, we make one song perfect, by memorizing lyrics, knowing the song inside-out, and practicing it over and over. This time the song of perfection was "THE STAND". I felt fear because it was very simple and could be "flat" or "boring". Every time I watched the video of hillsong, I felt like "o gosh, they are really good, but we can't do like them." I had no idea how we could play it.

Last weekday, I wrote the lyrics down over and over, and sang the song. It might seem strange, because I am a drummer and I don't have to sing. But each one of us worked hard to be familiar with the song. A girl who played a bass-guitar, tried to memorize it as well, even while she doesn't sing it.

The day has come.
In worship, something changed. We praised God from the bottom of our heart. Communication matters. Memorizing words works well. I didn't sing by mouth, but I sang it by playing drums. We, the team and people of God, all felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. Everybody was literally shining. It was so fun, and I am so grateful for God. Thank you Jesus!

「100,000年後の安全」という原子力エネルギーに関するノンフィクション映画があります。


私は原子力エネルギーの使用に反対しています。しかし牧師ですので、政治的な発言をするつもりはなく、先鋭化された運動に加わるつもりも一切ありません。身近な、自分の愛する人たちにだけ、少しずつ影響を与えていくことだけが目的で、情報共有をしています。

知っている人にはいまさらですが、私たちは10万年間処理し続けなければならない高放射性核廃棄物を大量に抱えています。賛成とか反対とか言う前に、まずこの処理をしなくてはなりません。これはフィンランドのノンフィクションであり、日本はまだ処理方法すら確定していません。

今、福音書の論文で毎日毎日睡眠不足に陥りながら大量の本を読んでいます。
たった2000年前のことなのに、さっぱり分からない。
私たちはほんの20行ほどのpassageを把握するために、膨大な文献を読み、古代語を分析し、教授にダメだしをされて心の中で泣き（これはどーでもいいか）、時間を費やします。でも、これだけやっても、Jesusが何を意図して言ったのか、はっきりと理解することは不可能です。
私たちと2000年前に生きた人たちは、違いすぎるんです。
文化も言葉も考え方も宗教観も。何もかも違う。


2000年でもこんなにgapがあるのに。どうやって10万年後の人とコミュニケーションをとるのか？
この映画はそれがテーマです。
そしてこれはフィクションではありません。
未来の人に向けて作られたメッセージが大変真剣で、逆にとても怖いです。

Game Plan for Life

Game Plan for Life, the book I found by chance
Go San Diego Chargers! Go APU! The season has come. I love fall because there are games on every weekend. I like NFL and college football both. Don't you think it is a typical "American pastime"? It is so fun! Competing athletes, exciting games, marching bands, snacks, and cheerleaders. People look happy. A couple of months ago, I read the book written by Joe Gibbs who is 3-time Super-Bowl Champion head coach. His story is interesting and full of insights. The book I found by chance is "Game Plan for Life -Your Personal Playbook for Success-".

Playbook
If you watch football games, you'll see the coaches on the sidelines, wearing a headset. Generally, a team has many coaches - a coach for RB (running backs), QB (quarterbacks), the defensive line - coaches for each of the positions. But what on earth is these coaches' work? Joe answered that their job is "to think". One of the most important works they are doing as coaches is "to come to the office on Monday to Tuesday to craft the game plan for the following weekend." They spend dozens of hours going though on-field scenarios. They watch the videos, study their rivals, and learn players for strengths and weaknesses. In short, they "develop a specific game plan to win" the game. Each week, they spend a bunch of hours in office, to get the game plan done. By Wednesday, they hand each player a two-inch-thick binder including everything the players need to know about the game. It is the playbook.

No Game Plan, No Victory
Joe Gibbs told us that God is our Head Coach, and we all are players for our own life. Joe's question is this: "If God is our Head Coach, would He put us on the field without any game plan?" Absolutely not. God gave us a special game plan - His Word, the Bible. Joe believes that the Bible is the Game Plan for life that God has given us. You might think "what? The Bible was written 2000 years ago, so it's not relevant today, for my life." But I am so sure that the Bible is way beyond limitations of time or culture. If you read the Bible to the end of it, you will see that the Bible is more relevant than you think. So, read the Bible and join His winning team!!

A New Generation

I like playing drums on Sundays. It is so fun, and I can find lots of beauties of services. God created us humans to feel joy when we pray&praise to Him. From the stage, I like to see shining faces who stand toward God. They are literally shining!

One point I like in my worship team is, they are eager to improve. Our theme right now is "communication". How do we communicate with people? How do we communicate each other? And one more thing, this improvement is not for showing off. A service is not a show. We want to improve ourselves for communicating with people more effectively, and for giving all glory to God back.

I learned a lot here. New songs, new people, and new ways of playing drums. They're all shaping me and I can't thank God enough. My prayer right now can be seen in Hosanna and a quote from my teacher. "Generation" is to "generate" something. Yes, I am a part of the new generation! Jesus, use me to show Your glory more.

Wisdom, better than information. グーグルよりも神の知恵

In Northridge church, I finished the message series titled as "people of the way" which showed a bunch of people of faith in the Old Testaments. Jewish religion did not happen accidentally. It was shaped and formed through the process of gradually becoming the people of God. In Genesis 2, God created the humankind from the dust and He gave the breath of life into man's body. Likewise, people of God have been created by the Potter's hand all the throughout the history. History is derived from His story or God's story, so it shows us that we are in the ongoing process of making us the people of the Mighty God. The more we get better understandings and perspectives of the Bible, the more deepened we are going through His world of grace.

I am really excited about the new message series coming on the next weekend, which is titled as "WISDOM". We will go through this series a next couple of weeks. I am so excited! Information does not make any difference. Rather, wisdom makes all the difference. Google is not wisdom, but information. It never teaches us what to do. I will show you the wisdom of Solomon using the book of Proverb.

Thesis is this: Information does not make any difference, but God's wisdom makes all the difference. It lets you know what to do, and it will give you the direction of where God wants you to go.

A small step to be a real MAN

Man up! The manning up Men's Retreat held in a last weekend was great. I love worshipping and talking with guys. I got a big challenge from God. My leader in small group is the real man. Thanks him for leading us like "when is the last time you bought flowers for your wife?" "Bible doesn't say 'love your kids', it doesnt say that, it's pretty easy for us because of our nature. rather, it teaches us 'love your wife'." Yeah, love your wife and be the man. I am grateful for being surrounded by such a kind of amazing guys showing a good example as a husband and a father.

I could have a lot of time to talk with my best buddy H. He is also ministering a japanese-american church and loves working with college groups. We often work together. The speaker B recommended us to become accountability-partners, but we didn't get it seriously. It was like, "yeah sure we need a partner for being accountable, but,,,,". We both were afraid to be awkward. In the last meeting, the speaker B was so powerful. "you see pebbles? You might be able to bring it in your pocket. But it's growing like this! You can't handle it." He showed A BIG ROCK to us. Yes, the most scare nature of sin is GROWING. Pebbles in our hearts grow bigger. My buddy and I both already knew it from our own experience. After the message, we asked one another to be an accountability-partner. We jumped off from the cliff by putting trust in God's parachute.

It's gonna be a first try for me, but I'm so excited! It's gonna be a big challenge, but it's worth investing time and energy into it. God showed me a next step for becoming a real MAN who loves his wife. Again, this weekend was awesome. I wanna be the man like my big brothers who I met there. God will lead me to where He wants me to go. I'll never be the same. Love and respect my wife and be THE MAN.

こんな本読んでます。聖書学 教科書一覧 2011 Fall Semester

今セメスターは3つのクラス。
１．ギリシャ語
２．神の民（旧約）
３．福音書の証言（新約）

去年はPrerequisiteがたくさんあり、望み通りのスケジュールは組めなかった。

しかし、ついに、全部聖書のクラスが取れるようになりました。
しかも語学＋旧約＋新約とバランスよい。Perfect!

教科書がほぼそろいました。
どうせ始まったら宿題に追いたてられることは分かっているので、始まる前にできる限り、と思って悪あがきで読んでます。頭の中は情報だらけ。

毎日が感動です。今日は福音書の研究の進展を読みました。
著者のたとえに感動しました。

福音書研究は、たとえていえば、窓→鏡→ステンドグラスというように進んできたと。

窓の時代　（聖書を通して、窓の向こう側に見える歴史的イエスを追っていた。日本的に言えばリベラル全盛）
鏡の時代　（聖書を通して、実は鏡の中の自分、自分の前提・背景・神学アジェンダなどを読み込んでいた。）

そしてステンドグラスの時代はこれから！

ステンドグラスを眺めると、ぼんやり向こう側（歴史）も見える、ぼんやり自分の姿も見える、でも色の付いたガラスが一番見える。そしてそれは個々では用をなさず、たくさんのステンドグラスが集まって意味を成す。そしてステンドグラスの一番の目的は、向こう側を見ることでも自分を見ることでもなく、何かの絵を見せること。羊の絵、聖人の絵。

福音書の役割はイエスをBeautifulに描き出すこと。それは絵。イエスそのものではない。ステンドグラスの羊が、羊そのものではないように。しかしその絵は、Artist(神）が描きたいと思っているイエスなのです!!!

子どもと大人の礼拝 「神の力によって生きる」 8月28日

夏の締めくくりに、ペニンスラ教会の礼拝で奉仕をしました。

先生の方針から、この教会では子どもと大人で合同礼拝をしています。私も両方のメッセージをしました。
聖書箇所はローマ書1章16-17節です。途中で第一コリント15章3-4節を参照します。

Hitting Arizona

Youth Sleepover Retreat @Peninsula church was good. It was so fun and some of youth believed in Jesus for the first time. They raised their hand to response the invitation. Wow,,, praise the Lord. Thank you Jesus. One lesson I learned again is, the more you believe Jesus is able to save people, the more people are likely to accept Him as their Savior. In short, believing is everything for a pastor. がんばったよー。

Btw I am the happiest minister. Thank you friends for your sincere prayer. You guys are always in my prayer too. 本当にお祈りありがとうございました。Family Campから続いての奉仕でしたが、支えられました。

Youth Retreat. "You are SUPER SUPER special!!"

明日からPeninsula churchのYouth Retreatに行ってきます。日本からのMission Teamも参加してくれるみたいです。
今回は僕がスピーカー、そしてベニス教会の英語部のbest friendが応援に来てくれる。冬のキャンプは逆で、彼がスピーカー、僕がカウンセラです。こういうパートナーシップも嬉しい。

英語でのメッセージはいつもプレッシャーを感じます。
でも今回は期待のほうがはるかに上！ I am so excited!

I would like to offer them an opportunity to believe in Jesus for the first time! Aug 14 2011 would be the day for them. I lead them to believe Jesus died on the cross for them and resurrected from the death. Please pray for it.

I wanna talk about "fingerprints".
Fingerprints show who you are. How many of you have pushed your thumb on the machine in DMV or somewhere else before? The system takes a picture of your finger, and they can pick up some points. If you get 6 points, you can tell who you are. The chance that you find the all same characteristics on another person is, 1/10,000,000,000. There are 6 billion people in the world today. That means, you can tell who you are by only 6 small points of your finger!!

Imagine that. You are more than that.

I mean, YOU ARE SUPER SUPER UNIQUE. There is no person like you on this planet. The Bible says that God created you and loves you. I know you've ever heard it over&over&over in church. But you never miss this point. You are so special and custom-made.You are original and a masterpiece of God.


God has a plan for you. The plan is not small. It's so huge. It's bigger than you've ever thought.
The plan is to prosper you, and not to harm you. It's the plan to give hope and a future.

Camp Camp Camp!!

I hit the Christian Park camp site!!

I am on the last long way trip whole up to 21th. Family Camp@Redwood park, VBS@Eastbay, and Youth Retreat@Peninsula(I am the speaker!), and a vacation in Grand Canyon. And I am also preaching 2 services@Northridge, and Sunday service@Orange Coast. I will drive more than 2,500 miles in two weeks.


Yeah, I know I am crazy.
I am so excited to see new people. And I can't wait to work with youth group up there!!

Friends, please pray for me, especially for Youth Retreat@Peninsula. I will offer teenagers an opportunity to accept Jesus as their Savior for the first time. It must be a blessed time.

IT'S SO FUN!!

もともとKidsのCampのために買ったわけですが。

いま教会の人たちが伝道に燃えてて、「先生、子ども伝道をやりましょう！」って言われたので、これでがんがんデジタル紙芝居を作りたいと思います。日米を問わず、子どもは私の下手な絵が大好きなようです。

Bamboo FUN Pen&Touch is a tool for graphic. I bought the medium size one, and it is so useful for drawing. IT'S SO FUN. I love it. It gives us a good father-and-son time. I will also use this for kids in church. Kids love seeing pictures with the Bible stories.

明日、アメリカ人の教会でワーシップチームとして奉仕します。こちらに来てから、ノースリッジ教会以外でドラム叩くのは初めてなので、楽しみです

これからの日曜日、どこかに招かれていないときはこの教会のTeamにもっとinvolvedされていく予定。ノースリッジの礼拝が土曜っていうのも、神様のご計画かも！

I am so excited to give praises as one of the team in MissionValley church. I love working with young people through music. This time, we gonna sing YOU'LL COME, FOREVER REIGN, OUR GOD, Hosanna, We Fall Down. I love these songs. It is so privilege for me to serve God as worship team. I believe that revival comes with music. Many examples can be found in the Bible, like praise in the Exodus, Davidic Psalms, and Paul's singing in jail.

I had been working for kids in Family Camp. God is amazing. I had a privilege to speak to them five times in English. My passion is working for young people. キッズプログラム楽しかった！

Small group was good too. There was a guy who had never been to church before in my group. Every morning I told him the good news through 1Cor15 and Romans. キリスト教のこと、はっきり説明しといた。He said like "I might believe,,,,, honestly I wanna believe in God, but,,," I said, "haha, don't worry, take your time!!" I believe he will know and accept Jesus as his Savior someday.

Amazing Stories -Northpoint Community Church (Click!!)

This series "Amazing Stories" was cool. It is like "Bible Classics", a series of popular stories in the Old Testament like Noah, David vs Goliath, Joseph, and Naaman. Honestly I didn't have any expectations for it, but it's so amazing. You don't miss it. The classic Bible stories have a huge impact.

My most favorite is Part 3, Joseph. From around 36min, it is so moving. I couldn't resist. You never miss it (but watch it from the beginning, pleaaaaaase). Joel did a literally amazing job. So powerful. I like him.

It is about forgiveness, trust and surrender. Forgiving and forgetting is both 100% spiritual thing. Do you have something bitter in your heart? You can't let it go without God's help.

バイブル・クラシックとでも言うべき、多くの人が知っているノア、ダビデ、ヨセフ、ナアマンのメッセージシリーズです。
私が一番気に入ったのはPart3ヨセフ。夏にペニンスラ教会でユースキャンプがありますが、illustrationも使わせてもらって、こういう元気が出るメッセージをしたいです！

For the 2nd Generation, in Japanese-American church

I am speaking and serving for Japanese-American church here in California. The Japanese-American culture here is interesting. I would say that the first generation like me is super-Japanese. lol. The 1st generation means people who were born and grew up in Japan. They might have been changed culturally a bit in the States, but they still think like Japanese people. They sometimes speak in English, but they think in their mind using Japanese. The 3rd generation is totally different. They don't speak Japanese at all. They are Americans and just know much about Japanese culture.

The 2nd generation is amazing, and most interesting.
Actually they are amazing people. I love them.

They are the children of the 1st generation. They were born and raised in the States and they speak English/Japanese both. First time I came here in California, I was so shocked to see tons of "bilingual" people. Their first language is English. They listen to messages in English, because English can reach their hearts more. However, surprisingly they speak Japanese just like me! Their vocabulary, pronunciation is either perfect. They can use even Keigo, a special usage of Japanese in manner. Moreover, they are so much familiar with Japanese culture and they love Japan! (maybe more than I do! lol). They are perfect "bi-lingual" and "bi-cultural" people. I love kids here. They are amazing people.

A couple of days ago, I got new offers to serve God. Yay~~!! I will speak for young people, 2nd generation here, twice in this summer. One time will be for early 20's in Japanese churches in California, and the other will be for teenagers in Peninsula church. I am so grateful for being given this special opportunities by God. I heard that the 2nd generation is likely to feel struggling of their identity. They are so familiar with two cultures, but sometimes they say they feel like confusing about who they really are. It is called as identity crisis. Unfortunately I can't figure out what it really is, because I am super-Japanese. But I want to encourage them for their identity as sons/daughters of God. I want to encourage them that they will be sure and peace no matter what their national identity is.

What I am now thinking to speak about is "God's will for our lives". I believe that the most powerful prayer is for seeking God's will/plan for our lives.
Show Me Your Will(Plan) For My Life.
This simple prayer using 7 words is my prayer. It has changed my life completely. I wanna share this prayer with kids. Oh, I have to practice English more. Pray for me!
